tool cords at regular intervals and
keep all controls dry, clean and
free from oil and grease.
20. Have your tool repaired by
an authorized repair agent. This
power tool is in accordance with
the relevant safety regulations. To
avoid danger, electric appliances
must only be repaired by qualifed
technicians.
WARMInG: Some dust
created by power sanding,
sawing grinding, drilling, and
other construction activities
contains chemicals known to
cause cancer, birth defects or the
other reproductive harm. Some
examples of these chemicals are:
Lead from lead-based paints;
Crystalline silica from bricks
and cement and other masonry
products, and Arsenic and
chromium from chemically-treated
lumber (CCA).
Your risk from these exposures
varies, depending on how
often you do this type of work.
To reduce your exposure to
these chemicals: work in a well
ventilated area, and work with
approved safety equipment,
such as those dust masks that
are specially designed to flter
out microscopic particles. Avoid
prolonged contact with dust from
power sanding, sawing, grinding,
drilling, and other construction
activities. Wear protective clothing
and wash exposed areas with soap
and water. Allowing dust to get
into your mouth, eyes, or lay on
the skin may promote absorption
of harmful chemicals.
ADDITIOnAL SAFETY
InSTRUCTIOnS FOR
ROTARY HAMMERS
21. Keep your drill bits sharp for
best and safest performance.
14
22. When ftting and changing
accessories, always use the
instructions supplied with the
accessory.
23. Always use the side handle
supplied with the tool. Keep a frm
grip on the tool at all times. Do
not attempt to operate this tool
without holding it with both hands.
Operating this tool with one
hand will result in loss of control.
Breaking through or encountering
hard materials such as re-bar may
be hazardous as well.
24. Use clamps or a vice to hold
work piece, if possible.
25. Make sure the power switch
is not "ON" before you plug in.
Always switch OFF before you put
your hammer drill down.
26. Do not force your hammer
drill –'D0 it will do a better and
safer job at the speed for which it
was designed.
27. Hold tool by insulated gripping
surfaces when performing an
operation where the cutting tool
may contact hidden wiring or its
own cord. Contact with a "live"
wire will make exposed metal
parts of the tool "live" and shock
the operator.
28. Do not use chisels in any of
the rotation modes, i.e., rotary
drilling and hammer drilling
modes. Chisels may jam causing
loss of control.
29. Wear gloves when handling
hammer bits and tools. Hammer
bits and tools get hot during
operation. Gloves and frequent
rest periods will reduce risk of
vibration damage to hands and
arms.
30. Keep gloves away from
rotating bits to avoid entanglement
with bit and possible injury.
31. Keep hands and body from
between the tool and wall or post,
etc, to avoid being crushed by the
tool should it twist unexpectedly if
the bits binds.

DOUBLE InSULATIOn

The tool is double insulated
according with EN50144.
Double insulation means that
all the external metal parts are
electrically insulated from the
mains power supply. This is done
by placing insulated barriers
between the electrical and
mechanical components so as to
making unnecessary for the tool to
be earthed.
nOTE: Double insulation does
not take the place of normal safety
precautions when operating this
tool. The insulation system is for
added protection against injury
resulting from a possible electrical
insulation failure within the tool.

ELECTRICAL SAFETY

The electric motor has been
designed for one voltage only.
Always check that the power
supply corresponds to the voltage
on the rating plate.
WARMInG: Never connect the
live (L) or neutral (N) wires to the
earth pin marked E or.
USInG An EXTEnSIOn
CABLE
An extension cable should not be
used unless absolutely necessary.
Use of an improper extension
cable could result in a risk of fre
and electric shock. If an extension
cable must be used, use only
those that are approved by the
country''D5s electrical Authority.
