MAINTENANCE WARNING: To prevent serious injury, never perform Bar Cover maintenance or repairs while the unit is running. Always allow the unit to cool before servicing or repairing the unit. Proper saw chain tension is extremely important. Check the saw chain tension before and during operation. Maintaining proper saw chain tension will improve cutting performance and prolong the life of the saw chain.

MAINTAINING THE GUIDE BAR 1. Rotate the guide bar frequently, at regular intervals (for example, after every 5 hours of operation), to ensure even wear on the top and bottom of the guide bar. 2. Clean the guide bar groove and oil passages whenever the saw chain is removed, when the unit has been used heavily or when the saw chain appears dirty. -

MAINTAINING THE SPARK PLUG 1. Stop the engine and allow it to cool. Grasp the spark plug boot firmly and pull it from the spark plug. 2. Clean around the spark plug. Remove the spark plug from the cylinder head with a 5/8-inch socket, turning counterclockwise. WARNING: Do not sand blast, scrape or clean spark plug electrodes. -
