INSTALLING AND ADJUSTING THE HANDLE
Installing the Handle
1. Push the handle down onto the shaft housing (Fig. 1). The bolt
hole in the handle should be to the right.
2. Insert the bolt into the bolt hole and push it through (Fig. 1).
Tighten the bolt with a 3/ 8" socket, but do not tighten the bolt
completely .
3. While holding the unit in the operating position, move the handle
to the location that provides the best grip. Place it a minimum of
6 inches (15.24 cm) from the end of the shaft grip (Fig. 1).
4. Tighten the bolt with a 3/ 8" socket until the handle is secure.
Adjusting the Handle
If the handle requires adjustment:
1. Loosen the bolt with a 3/ 8" socket (Fig. 1).
2. While holding the unit in the operating position, move the handle
to the location that provides the best grip. Place it a minimum of
6 inches (15.24 cm) from the end of the shaft grip (Fig. 1).
3. Tighten the bolt with a 3/ 8" socket until the handle is secure.
FILLING THE CHAIN OIL RESERVOIR
DANGER:
Failure to fill the chain oil reservoir will cause
irreparable damage to the unit. Make sure the chain oil
reservoir is always filled. Always use bar and chain oil.
1. Place the unit on a flat surface.
2. Remove the chain oil reservoir cap (Fig. 2).
3. Open the bottle of bar and chain oil provided with your unit.
4. Pour the oil into the chain oil reservoir until it is filled (Fig. 2).
NOTE: The chain oil reservoir may be filled to the lip of the fill
opening without damaging the unit.
WARNING:
Oil constantly flows from the chain oil
reservoir to oil the saw chain. Check the chain oil level
constantly so that it does not drop below half full.
