- Never store rechargeable battery packs together
with metal objects. There is a risk of short-circuits.
- Do not charge any third-party rechargeable
batteries. The device is only intended for charging
MAFELL lithium-ion rechargeable batteries with
voltages of 18 V.
- Do not reach inside the device with conductive
objects, as mains voltage is applied to certain
areas.
- Do not charge any damaged rechargeable battery
pack, but replace it immediately.
- Never carry the device by its cable and do not
suspend it from the cable.
- Children and adolescents may not operate this
appliance. Exempted from this are adolescents
using the appliance under the supervision of an
expert for the purpose of their training.
- Only
use
original
accessories or special accessories. Otherwise, the
manufacturer will not accept any warranty claims
and cannot be held liable.

Initial operation

The APS 18 M rechargeable power station is totally
insulated according to class II.
Prior to commissioning make sure that the mains
voltage agrees with the operating voltage stated on
the machine's rating plate.
Devices generating direct current such as the one on
hand could influence simple earth leakage circuit
breakers. Therefore, use one of type F or better with
a tripping current of max. 30 mA.
Before starting up the charger, make sure that the
ventilation slots are unobstructed. The minimum
distance to other objects is min. 5 cm.

5.1 Self-test

Plug in the mains plug.
The warning display (4) and the operating mode
display (3) will light up in succession for approx.
1 second; the built-in fan will run for approx. 5
seconds.

Operation

6.1 Charging the rechargeable battery

Push the rechargeable battery pack
completely onto the sliding seat up
to the limit stop (2).
The operating mode display (3) is
blinking.
To display the charging state of a li-
ion rechargeable battery pack 18 V,
remove the rechargeable battery
pack from the charger and then
press the button on the
rechargeable battery pack.

6.2 Trickle charge

Once charging is complete, the
charger switches automatically to
trickle charge. The rechargeable
battery pack can remain inside the
charger and is thus always ready
for operation. The operating mode
display (3) lights up constantly.

Service and maintenance

Danger
Pull the power plug during all
service work.
Always keep the device in a clean condition.
Should the device fail despite thorough manufacturing
and testing procedures, the repair must be carried out
by an authorised customer service station for
MAFELL electrical tools.
If the supply cable is damaged, it must be replaced by
a MAFELL customer service station because special
tools are required to do so.
