ASSEMBLY
Recharge only with the charger
WARNING
specified for the battery. For spe-
cific charging instructions, read the operator's
manual supplied with your charger and battery.
Removing/Inserting the Battery
To remove the battery, push in the release buttons
and pull the battery pack away from the tool.
Always remove battery pack before

changing or removing accessories.
To insert the battery, slide the pack into the body
of the tool. Make sure it latches securely into place.
Only use accessories specifically
WARNING
recommended for this tool. Others
may be hazardous.
Blades are sharp. Keep hands away from cutting
edge. Laceration can occur.
Installing and Adjusting the Side Handle
1. To install, unscrew the side handle
grip completely.
2. Remove the housing from the collar
and bolt.
3. Slide the collar around the neck of
the head.
4. Insert the bolt head into the collar.
5. Fit the housing over the bolt.
6. Screw on the side handle grip.
7. To adjust, unscrew the side handle
grip slightly.
8. Rotate the side handle to the de-
sired position.
9. Tighten the side handle grip se-
curely.
Opening the Jaws
To open the jaws, squeeze the jaw
release levers together. The front jaw
will open and the rear jaw will swing
out.The front jaw will stay open until
the workpiece is inserted.
Changing the Blades
Replace the blades when they become chipped or
damaged. Always replace blades as a set. Use only
MILWAUKEE blades. Refer to Specifications for
replacement blade numbers.
1. Pull trigger for 1 second to slightly extend the rear
blade.
2. Remove the battery pack.
3. Using a 5 mm hex wrench, remove the socket
screws holding the front blade.
4. Press the jaw release levers to open the jaws
and carefully remove the front blade. NOTE: Take
notice of the blade orientation so the new blade
can be installed the same way.
5. Remove the locking thumb screw from the back
of the retaining pin. Push the blade pin out.
6. Slide the rear blade out of the jaws. NOTE: Take
notice of the blade orientation so the new blade
can be installed the same way.
7. Orient the new blades so the flat sides contact
and the bevels face away from each other, like a
pair of scissors.
8. Insert the new rear blade and push in the retaining
pin. Insert and hand tighten the locking thumb screw.
9. Insert the front blade and hand tighten the socket
screws.
10. Close the jaws and securely tighten the socket
screws to 130 in-lbs.

before making a cut. Never cut gas or water lines.
Keep hands away from all cutting edges and
moving parts. Laceration and amputation

cifically recommended for this tool. Others may be
hazardous.
To reduce the risk of injury, wear safety goggles or
glasses with side shields. Always use a side handle
when using this tool.
Before cutting, ensure blades are properly installed.
1. Insert the workpiece squarely between the blades.
Collar
Do not attempt to make angled cuts as it will dam-
age the workpiece and blades. Ensure the jaws

close completely.
2. Hold the tool firmly with both hands. Ensure the
workpiece is straight and centered in the jaws.
Housing
Keep hands away from blades.
Grip
3. Pull and hold the trigger through the operation.
When the cut is complete or the tool shuts off,
release the trigger. An LED will light when the
trigger is pulled. NOTE: Workpiece may move
slightly during the cut.
4. Pull the reverse switch to retract the rear blade.
WARNING

other materials.
• Cut farther in from the end of the material to avoid
crooked cuts.
• Do not attempt angled cuts as it will damage the blades.
Hold the material squarely between the blades.
• Cut clean material to extend the blade life. Wipe dirt
and debris from material and blades before begin-
ning the cut.
