Purpose
Install bluetooth interface, Easy Connect, on to boat/engine's
electronic network.
Bluetooth code
Note: you will need the six-digit bluetooth code printed on
the interface label for connection to your device (phone,
tablet, etc.). See C in Fig. 7. Record the code number before
mounting the interface.

Installation
WARNING! to prevent accidental starting,
disconnect engine power at the battery switch,
tag battery switch and all ignition switches to
alert others that work is being done on the
engine.
NOTICE! The interface and adapter harnesses must
be mounted securely, away from moving parts, excess
heat, and wet areas. Use the cable ties to secure the
interface.
NOTICE! All harness and cable installations must meet
ABYC, USCG, EU and other applicable regulations and
standards.
Mount the interface where the LED lights can be seen if
needed, for system diagnostics.
EVC-E and EVC-D (all versions)
Connect interface to the multilink hub according to figure 1;
option A - directly to hub, or
option B - use Y-cable to install in-line
6
Gas engines without EVC
A - 6-pin Vodia connector (2010 to present)
Use adapter harness 23132012 to connect the interface to
the engine harness VODIA connector, see figure 2. The
connector is usually located near the fuse box.
B - 8-pin Vodia connector (2006-2009)
These engines require an additional harness to complete the
installation. Order one 3883170 adapter harness for each
engine. Install the interface and adapter harnesses
according to figure 2.
A & B
For twin installations, mount an interface on each engine.
The Vodia connector is still powered at key off; the LEDs are
still active and will draw a very small amount of current.
During storage this could drain the batteries. Disconnect
engine electrical power to prevent.

EVC-A
Y-harness 23352504 is required to connect the interface to
the EVC network.
The third leg of the Y-harness must be terminated.
On twin installations this leg is connected to X5 on the
second HCU, which provides the termination.
On single installations terminal plug 881829 must be
installed on the open leg.
NMEA2000
The interface will also broadcast data from the boat's
NMEA2000 network. Connect the interface's NMEA2000
connector to the NMEA2000 backbone to access this data.
System Status LEDs
See figure 7.
G - Green LED - diagnostics;
Flashes On-Off-On-Off-On, the device has power supply and
communication on both NMEA and EVC/Engine.
On constantly, the unit has power supply but no
communication, either on NMEA or EVC/Engine.
Flashing twice and then off (500ms), repeatedly, then the unit
has power supply and communication on EVC/Engine but
not on NMEA.
Flashing three times and then off (500ms), repeatedly, then
the unit has power supply and communication on NMEA but
not on EVC/Engine.
B - Blue LED - bluetooth status;
Flashes On-Off-On-Off-On, unit is paired and working.
Not lit, Bluetooth device in interface is not working.
On constantly, Bluetooth interface is working but not paired.
Flashing twice and then off (500ms), repeatedly, error in
Bluetooth communication.
