For all Double Insulated Tools
Double Insulation - the construction of these tools affords equivalent protection to a properly grounded tool without the necessity for using
a grounding conductor. A three wire cord and grounded supply system is not required. All exposed metal parts are isolated from the internal
metal motor components with protecting insulation. The lead wires switch, etc. with their functional insulation have the added protection of
the non-conductive switch handle to complete the double insulation system.
Replacement parts - When servicing, use only identical replacement parts.
Polarized plugs - To reduce the risk of electric shock, this equipment has a polarized plug (one blade is wider than the other). This plug will fit in
a polarized outlet only one way. If the plug does not fit fully in the outlet, reverse the plug. If it still does not fit, contact a qualified electrician to
install the proper outlet. Do not change the plug in any way.
When using double insulated reciprocating saws, sabre saws, drills and hammer drills (upto and including 1/2 inch chuck capacity) for cutting
or drilling into walls or other consealed space where electrical wiring may be consealed, use only the insulated switch handle and/or insulated
side handle to control operation of the tool. Never contact drill chuck or any other metal part of the tool.

Extension Cords

Make sure your extension cord is in good condition. When using an extension cord, be sure to use one heavy enough to carry the current your
product will draw. An undersized cord will cause a drop in line voltage, resulting in loss of power and overheating. The following table shows
the correct size to use depending on cord length and nameplate ampere rating. If in doubt, use the next heavier gage. The smaller the gage
number, heavier the cord.

Outdoor use extension cords - When tool is used outdoors, use only extension cords intended for use outdoors and so marked.
Check damaged parts - Before further use of the tool, a guard or other part that is damaged should be carefully checked to determine that
it will operate properly and perform its intended function. Check for alignment of moving parts, breakage of parts, mounting and any other
conditions that may affect its operation.
A guard or other part that is damaged should be properly repaired or replaced by an authorized service center unless otherwise indicated
elsewhere in this instruction manual. Have defective switches replaced by authorized service center. Do not use tool if switch does not
turn it on and off.

Servicing Instructions

All repairs and maintenance of the electrical components, armature, field brushes, switches and cords of either double insulated or three-wire
grounded tools must be performed by an authorized service center.
Operating Instructions
Preparing the tool for use - Do not plug cord into a power receptacle until the following steps have been completed. Your tool has been
thoroughly lubricated at assembly. Prior to initial use and after every three hours of use, hold the tool with the square driver or chuck up and
apply a few drops of SAE 10 or 20 machine oil at the point where the drive spindle enters the nose of the tool. Refer to figure 1.
If your tool has an oil port in the reversing cap or switch handle, a few drops of the same oil should be applied to the rear armature bearing
through the port. When oiling in the future, accumulated dirt should be removed from the port to facilitate adding lubricant.
