4.6. Filters

Removing the nose cone and adapter exposes a hydrophobic filter
(0.45 micron) located at the top of the nose piece. The filter protects the
XL from accidental over-aspirations and we strongly recommend to use
only the original Biohit filters. Both sterile and non-sterile filters are
available.

Note: The XL can not be operated without a filter. Wet filters, due to
overfilling will slow or stop fluid movement. If overfilling occurs, change the
filter immediately by simply pulling it out and placing a new filter, with the
blue side upwards, into the nose piece.

5. PROGRAMMING THE XL

Programming is done using the six-button keyboard and the LC-display.
There are four different operating modes, offering special functions and
varying speeds for your selection.
