Design and function
The transmission coil of the sensor creates an alternating magnetic
field which induces an electrical current in the water sample. The
ions in the sample water are thereby subjected to a flow of current
which for its part generates a magnetic field in the receiver coil. The
induction current in the receiver coil is a measurement of the con-
ductivity of the water sample.
