Installing the electrical kit
1. Disconnect the negative battery terminal.
2. If necessary, remove the following covers and panels:
Right-hand and left-hand covering of the tail lights

Open the cable leadthrough on the left side

Left-hand side-spar covering (B-pillar)
-
Floor covering and battery cover on the left side

3. Starting in the luggage trunk, lead the cable end through the vehicle's cable leadthrough
(Fig. 1/9) on the left side to the outside to the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/10).
4. Cut the cable leading to the socket to size.
Installing the socket
5. Fit the socket gasket and connect the cable harness to the socket housing in accordance with
the pin assignment plan (Fig. 1/10) and push the rubber grommet against the socket.
6. Screw the socket onto the socket holder plate (Fig. 1/10) using the supplied screws and nuts.
Connecting the tail lights and the trailer module
7. Disconnect the plug-in connector of the left tail light (Fig. 1/8) and connect it to the matching
counterparts on the cable harness. Make sure that the plugs lock firmly into place.
8. Connect the black wires with the eyelet to the vehicle's ground point (Fig. 1/7).
9. Plug the 12-pin plug and the 18-pin plug into the trailer control module (Fig. 1/6).
10. Fasten the trailer control module (Fig. 1/6) in the left-hand pillar above the tail light using
some velcro tape and the supplied fastening screw.
