1 Safety instructions
Carefully read through
the instructions before
putting into operation.
Observe the instructions and
keep them in an easily acces-
sible place for reference.
Safety instructions are iden-
tified by a dot F and must
always be observed.
F The charger must be set up
horizontally on a firm surface.
F Protect the charger against
moisture.
F Do not cover the charger.
Set up the charger so that
there is a clearance of at least
15 cm on all sides for ventila-
tion purposes.
F Charge batteries only in well-
ventilated rooms.
F Avoid fire, naked flames and
sparks!
Explosive gases are produ-
ced during battery charging.
F If there is pungent smell
of gas:
Acute danger
of explosion!
Do not switch off the unit.
Avoid fire, naked flames and
sparks.
Do not remove the charging
clips.
Immediately
ventilate
room well.
After ventilation:
Switch off the unit.
Have the battery checked by
an after-sales service center
for Bosch products.
F The charger is exclusively
designed for charging fault–
free lead–acid batteries with
nominal capacities ranging
from 12 Ah to a maximum
180 (90) Ah and with nominal
voltages of 12 (24) V!
F Only tested batteries must be
connected in parallel for char-
ging.

F Do not charge maintenance-
free batteries together with
standard batteries.
F Only charge maintenance–
free batteries after establis-
hing that the battery requires
charging, either by means of a
battery test (e.g. with a Bosch
battery tester) or a start at-
tempt
(starter
cranks the engine).
F Maintenance–free
may only be charged in con-
junction with the appropriate
monitoring (e.g. voltmeter).
F The maximum charging time
for maintenance–free batte-
ries is 6 hours for capacities
up to 100 Ah and 12 hours for
capacities over 100 Ah.
F Batteries which are not suita-
ble for charging must not be
charged!
F The battery must be discon-
nected from the vehicle elec-
trical system if there is a risk
of damaging electronic equip-
ment!
F The rated battery voltage and
selected charging
must agree.
F The mains connection cable
and the charging leads must
be in perfect condition.
F The charger must only be
connected to a mains power
supply where the mains vol-
tage agrees with the voltage
rating on the rating plate.
F Comply with the instructions
of the vehicle manufacturer

F Wear protective goggles.
F Immediately wash off acid
splashes on the skin or clo-
thing with large quantities of
water. If necessary consult a
doctor.
F Unscrew the inspection plugs
of standard batteries before

ging clips during charging.
F Never short-circuit the char-
ging clips.
F The charging process must
be terminated as soon as the
charge current remains con-
stant or as soon as the battery
begins to produce gas !
F Starting aid may only be given
for a max. 1 minute! Then ob-

longer
serve a cooling–down period
of approx. 25 minutes!

dard batteries and exhausted batte-
ries can be charged with the power-
ful rapid start charger WL 150 S.
The charger is designed for rapid
charging and for use as a starting
aid.
If there is continuous overloading
the thermostatic switch in the trans-
former switches the charger off.
After a cooling–down period of 15 ...
30 minutes the thermostatic switch
automatically switches on again

1. Switch off main switch (4).
2. Pull out the mains plug.
3. Securely connect the charging
clips to the battery, ensuring that
the polarity is correct:
– red clip to positive terminal
– black clip to negative terminal
