• DIP Switch Setting
• DMX mode: DIP switch 10 must always be off. For the desired address see table below:

• Sound-activated mode: When there is no DMX signal and DIP switch 10 is off, the unit will go in sound-activated
mode. Adjust the sensitivity using the knob on the back of the unit.
• Automatic mode: When DIP switches 1, 2 and 10 are on, the unit will work in automatic mode.
• Master/slave mode: Set one device as master device and all other connected devices as slave devices. All slave
units will work according to the master device.
Set DIP switch 10 to on for both the master device and the slave device. Next, set DIP switch 1 to on for the
master device and to off for the slave device. DIP switch 2 must be set to on for auto mode or to off for sound
activation. Connect the output of the master unit to the input of the slave device using an XLR cable. Adjust the
sensitivity level with the sound sensitivity knob (centre position recommended). Remember to turn off the devices
prior to changing the DIP switch position. You can connect up to 8 slave devices to one master device
(connection of more than 8 slave devices may cause the units not to function accurately).

Connect the provided XLR cable to the female 3-pin XLR output of your controller and the other side to the male 3-
pin XLR input of the VDP1401RGLD4. Multiple VDP1401RGLD4s can be linked through serial linking. The linking
cable should be a two-core screened cable with XLR input and output connectors.
