Cleaning and Care
Do not immerse the equipment in water!
After each use, remove cut hairs from the cutting set using the cleaning brush.
Only wipe the equipment with a soft or slightly damp cloth.
Never use solvents or scouring agents!
Do not use any other cleaning agents.
For long-lasting good cutting performance, it is important to oil the cutting set frequently (Fig. 5). Only
use cutting set oil (enclosed) or oil order no. 23872–25.
Cutting set oil and hygienic spray are available from your dealer or our Service Centre.
If the cutting performance deteriorates after long use in spite of regular cleaning and oiling, the cutting
set should be replaced.
Use the blade guard when the equipment is not in use.
Always store the equipment with the blade guard in place.
Changing the clipping comb and clipping blade
Switch the equipment off using the on/off switch (Fig. 1b)
Disconnect from the mains.
Undo both screws on the cutting set, remove the clipping comb and clipping blade (Fig. 6).
When assembling, the clipping comb and clipping blade should be aligned as follows (Fig. 7).:
o
Raise cutting length adjustment lever – shortest cutting length (Fig. 3a).
o
The distance between the front edge of the clipping comb and the front edge of the clipping blade
should be between 0.8 mm und 1.6 mm (Fig. 7a).
o
The clipping comb and clipping knife should be parallel to each other.
o
The first tooth of the clipping blade (from the left) must cover the first tooth of the clipping comb or
be located slightly to the left of this (Fig. 7b).
o
The outermost tooth of the clipping blade (on the right) must touch the outermost large tooth of the
clipping comb (on the right) (Fig.7c).
Tighten both screws (Fig. 6).
Disposal in EU Countries
Follow the appropriate laws and regulations for the disposal of the device. Information for the disposal of
electric and electronic devices in the European Union: In the European Union the disposal of electric devices
is regulated nationally, based on the EU-guideline 2012/19/EU for Waste Electrical or Electronic
Equipment (WEEE). Accordingly, this device may not be disposed of through the community or
domestic waste collection services. This device will be accepted at community collection points
or recycling yards free of charge. The product packaging consists of recyclable materials. Dispose
of these properly to protect the environment and ensure it can be reused or recycled.
Dispsal in non-EU Countries
Please dispose of the device at the end of its service life in an environmentally friendly way and according to
the legal requirements.
