water in the tank.
You used a chemical
decalcifier.
Fabric fibers have ac-
cumulated and been
scorched in the sole-
plate holes.
The textiles may not
have been rinsed
properly or they are
new and have not
been washed before
being ironed.
Fault table
Use the self-cleaning
function (self clean) to
clean the inside of the
soleplate.
Iron an old towel to make
sure that any residue
in the iron is not trans-
ferred to the laundry. If
necessary, wipe the sole-
plate off with a damp
cloth.
Empty the water tank
and set the steam con-
trol dial to
before
you stow the iron.
Do not use a chemical
decalcifier.
Clean the soleplate with
a soft, damp cloth.
Thoroughly rinse the
textiles once more.
