If, after connecting the bat-
tery, the yellow "Charging"
LED does not light up, please
check the following:
• Polarity
• Connection quality (battery
terminals not oxidised)
• Battery status
A lead acid battery that has
11
not been charged for a long
time may be sulphated, so it
is diffi cult (if not impossible) to
recharge.
If the red "Wrong polarity"
LED lights up, the charger is
connected with reverse polarity
or the battery terminals are
shorted. The fuse has blown
and must be replaced with a
fuse of the same amperage
rating (20 A).
To replace the fuse, be sure to
disconnect the charger from the
mains and the battery.
If the green "Finished" LED
does not light up at the end of
the charging process, this may
indicate a defective battery:
• A cell is short-circuited.
• The battery voltage reaches the
fi nal charge status only under
diffi culty (may be the case with
old batteries).
Protect the charger from hu-
midity (rain, splash water).
NEVER try to charge
non-rechargeable batteries.
Only use the charger in an
upright position!
For standard batteries, please
check the electrolyte level before
charging. If necessary, refi ll with
distilled water until the lead plates
are covered.
Be careful not to overfi ll or else
corrosive acid may exit while
charging.
NOTE!
Potentially explosive gases!
Avoid sparks and open fl ames.
Only use in well ventilated
rooms.
