4.1. Fitting disposable visors
Position a maximum of 3 disposable visors behind the clamps at each side of the air hood and then draw the windows tight against the
main window.
4.2. Exchanging the KOLIBRI-vl face seal
The face seal can be changed easily after removing several fixing parts (this does not apply to PRIMAIR, JUNIOR B and JUNIOR B-
COMBI air hoods.) See the following illustrations for details.
4.2.1. Exchanging the KOLIBRI face seal (Figure 11a – Lift up face seal and Figure 11b – Replace face seal).
4.2.2. Exchanging the JUNIOR A face seal (Figure 12a – Loosen headband screws and Figure 12b – Bend visor, slide visor clamp up,
and exchange the face seal).
4.3. Exchanging the neck bib on JUNIOR B and JUNIOR B-COMBI air hoods.
For reasons of hygiene, replace the neck bib regularly, by undoing the zip fastener.
4.4. Exchanging the window, air hood type PRIMAIR
4.5. Exchanging the window, JUNIOR A, JUNIOR A-COMBI and KOLIBRI air hoods.
Remove the clamps holding the disposable windows and the face seal, then remove the head band (not with JUNIOR A-COMBI). Using
a pointed tool, press in the lips on the upper and lower window (not with the KOLIBRI air hood). The window can then be removed.
Taking an original replacement window, bend it slightly and slide it from the top into the recess of the upper window, causing the lips to
click into the holes. Repeat this procedure for the lower window.
4.6. Exchanging the window, JUNIOR B and JUNIOR B-COMBI air hoods.
Remove the small bolts securing the clamps for the disposable windows and the curved metal strips at the front. On the inside, remove
the screw heads from each side. Work in the reverse sequence to fit a new window.
4.7. Exchanging the window with face seal, PRIMAIR air hoods.
Remove the disposable face seal by unbuttoning the face seal with window from the head band with air-duct. Replace the old window
with face seal for a new one after visibility gets insufficient.
4.8. Exchanging the UV filter shade, EUROMASKI welding respirators.
Remove the mounting studs of the UV filter and take out the UV filters shade. Insert a new one and put back the mounting studs.
4.9. Exchanging the visor filter shade, EUROMASKI welding respirators.
Replace the visor filters shade by removing the press-studs.
Warning: After cleaning. disinfecting or changing components, check operation of the system. inspect all essential components for
damage or contamination and, if required, replace these with original spare parts. If there is insufficient air supply to the air hood, it could
indicate a blockage in the respirator, the supply hose or the coupling.
5. MAINTENANCE PERIODS
Before use:
After use:
Every 12 months:
Warning: Repairs may only be carried out by the manufacturer, by the authorised supplier or Honeywell trained personnel.
6. STORAGE
After use and cleaning, store the entire system in a cool, dry and dark location. Take measures to prevent component parts of the
system coming into contact with oils. grease, solvents, acids or other chemicals.
7. FAULTS/TROUBLE SHOOTING
While the air hood is in use, if the user can smell the surrounding air:
•
Check that the face seal of half-open systems (except for the JUNIOR B and JUNlOR B combi) fits close to the face.
•
There is insufficient air in the air hood (see the appropriated Honeywell PAPR manual).
•
The filters may be clogged (see the appropriated Honeywell PAPR manual).
8. TECHNICAL SPECIFICATION
The protection factor of the hoods depends on the design of the Powered Air Purifying Respirator. To obtain the classification of the
hoods refer to the user manual of COMPACT AIR series (COMPACT AIR 200 P/N A150401. COMPACT AIR P/N A150102 and
COMPACT AIR P/N A150140)
For gas filter combinations, see also the user manual for the Honeywell Powered Air Purifying Respirator.
