NOTE: DO NOT ATTEMPT TO USE THE JUMPSTARTER TO RECHARGE A VEHICLE'S BATTERY WHILE USING THE 12V OUTPUT SOCKET.
JUMPSTART A VEHICLE'S BATTERY
1. Check the charge of the internal battery on the jumpstarter unit. Do not use the jumpstarter if the internal battery charge indicator light is red. Doing so can cause damage to the battery.
2. Make sure that the vehicle or boat to be jumpstarted is turned OFF.
3. Connect the red clamp to the positive (+) terminal on the vehicle's battery.
4. Connect the black clamp to a non-moving metal part of the engine. Do not connect the black clamp to the negative terminal on the battery!
5. Switch the vehicles or boats ignition to ON.
6. Wait a minute or two.
7. Attempt to start the vehicle. Do not attempt to start the vehicle for more than 5 to 6 seconds.
8. If the vehicle does not start, wait at least another 3 minutes before retrying. In the event the engine does not start after several attempts, check other possibilities like battery connection.
9. Once the engine is running, disconnect the black clamp first and return it to its stored position on the jumpstarter.
10. Disconnect the red clamp and return it to its stored position on the jumpstarter. Recharge the jumpstarter as soon as possible.
POWERING 12V ACCESSORIES:
1. Check the charge of the internal battery on the jumpstarter unit. Do not use the jumpstarter if the internal battery charge indicator light is red. Doing so can cause damage to the battery.
2. Insert the cigarette lighter plug of any DC 12V appliance into the output socket.
3. You can power up any DC 12V appliance if the maximum current drawn by the appliance is 12 Amps or less. In case of over-load the auto reset circuit breaker will activate and cut off the output power for the
output socket.
4. If overload occurs, switch off the appliance, disconnect it from jumpstarter and wait approx. 4-5 minutes. The circuit breaker will release and enable the 12V output socket again.
COMPRESSOR OPERATION
The compressor hose and adapters are located inside the compartment, found on the back of the jumpstarter.
CAUTION: Only run the compressor 10 minutes at a time, then leave off for 10 minutes before using again so that the compressor can cool down.
1. Check the charge of internal battery on the jumpstarter unit. Do not use the jumpstarter if the internal battery charge indicator light is red. Doing so can cause damage to the battery.
2. When inflating a tire, use the universal adapter that is attached permanently to the air hose. Place this adapter onto the tire valve stem and press the adapter lever down to lock onto the valve stem.
3. Turn the compressor power switch to the ON position (located on the back of the jumpstarter).
4. Check the pressure frequently with the auxiliary pencil pressure gauge.
5. Only run the compressor for 10 minutes at a time. If more air is needed, wait 10 minutes before using again.
6. If inflating leather balls (footballs etc.) use the inflation needle. For inflation of other plastic items such as beach balls, flotation devices etc. use one of the plastic needles. Place the inflation needle into the
hose connector and press the connector lever down to lock into place. Insert the adapter into the item to be inflated.
NOTE: Do not over inflate the item.
AIR PRESSURE READINGS: The jumpstarter has a built in air pressure gauge. This gauge is accurate to ± 10psi.
HANDLING & STORAGE
Store your jumpstarter in a cool and dry location away from all combustible materials. Do not store the unit in a sealed, unventilated area. Avoid overheating and overcharging. If you store the unit for a long
period of time, be sure to recharge the jumperstarter every 6 to 8 weeks.
Do not charge the battery in an unventilated area. Do not use organic solvents or materials other than recommended chemical cleaners as specified on the battery labeling.
PROPER BATTERY DISPOSAL
Appropriate steps must be taken in case of a broken battery or in the event of an electrolyte leakage from the battery.
1. Avoid contact with acid materials. Use soda ash or lime to neutralize battery acid. Flush thoroughly with water. Dispose of the clean-up material as a hazardous waste product.
2. Waste disposal method: dispose of in accordance with federal, state and local regulations. Do not incinerate or throw in a garbage can. The battery should be shipped to a reclamation facility for recovery of
the metal and plastic components as the proper method of waste management. Contact the proper distributors for appropriate return procedures.
WARNING: Do not dispose a battery by using fire. This could result in an explosion. Before disposing the battery, cover exposed terminals with heavy duty electrical tape to
prevent shorting.
