Network configuration

Virtual zoning

The User interface is the tool to configure and manage the
network.
User interfaces associated to the Master Board, or any other
user interface associated to a slave zone with Access Level 3,
can be used to complete the configuration of the network.
All the instructions below are referred to the User Interface
connected to Master Board. Depending on the Access Level
of the Slave boards, some of these functions could be not
active. See "Access Level" paragraph for more the details.
Virtual zoning
Any user interface can be used to read/write all parameters
from any device in the network, according to the access
level of the board and zone with whom is associated (see
"Access Level" paragraph). To do this, select the target board
address and zone following the below procedure, then
enter in the variable table.

Configure all the System installed

Once network is configured and associations are made, it's
possible to set all the parameters of the different devices, to
complete the system configuration.
Using the virtual zone concept, it is possible to configure
the entire system from single interface.
It's strongly suggested to start to configure the variable table
of Master Board, moving by the virtual zoning feature to
address 10 and scrolling all the parameter of variable table to
set them in the right way according to the system installed.
Then configure slave boards (if present), starting from

Controller operation

Mode selection

Heating/Cooling/Sanitary/OFF mode is selected:
on the user interface by pressing
using parameter 4 of variable table (valid for selected
address and zone), with the Virtual Zoning features
heat/Cool mode can be set through external contacts if
code 108.0 is set as 0. OFF and Sanitary are in any case
accepted from the user interface.
Sanitary water production is activated always during
Heating/Cooling/Sanitary mode according to the priority
logic. No room comfort is active in Sanitary mode (only the
protections are enabled).
The water temperature is determined according to the
outside air temperature, through a climatic curve that the
installer is free to set.
Climatic curves
In Heating/Cooling modes, the water setpoint is determined
through climatic curves.
Code 51 for heating and code 56 for cooling allow choosing
between pre-set climatic curves or custom climatic curves.
Pre-set climatic curves are shown in pic. 5:
A Heating pre-set climatic curves
B Cooling pre-set climatic curves
If custom curves are used, involved parameters are shown in
pic. 6. Refer to Par. 52÷55 and Par. 57÷60 of the variable table.

address 21, zone 1, then zone 2, then all the other slave
boards in a similar way.
All the schedules for the main board and zones are
configurable using the Virtual Zoning features, for all the
Access Right Level 3, in the same way of the Variable Table.
NOTE: the mode icons, schedule hold icon, temperature,
humidity and room setpoint shown on the Main screen
of user interface, are not referred to the Virtual Zone but
only to the own user interface zone.

Room setpoint control
Set Par. 107 to 1 if the user interface is in the room to control
the temperature (user interface in zone).
In case of the user interface is in zone, it is possible to set the
desired temperature on the display; the Comfort Module
operates to satisfy this request. The setpoint calculated by
the climatic curve will be modified (±4°C) to quickly reach
the room setpoint.
As an alternative, it is also possible to use a room thermostat,
configuring the relevant input in the variable table.
Room thermostat can be also be used in combination with
user interface, to start/stop heating cooling operations.
Backup heaters (heating mode only)
If the outdoor temperature is lower than Par. 92 of variable
table and if the difference between the water setpoint and
the water temperature is higher than Par 93 for more than
Par. 94 minutes, the first step of electric heater is turned on.
If electric heater activation conditions are still valid after
Par. 94 minutes since first step of electric heater activation,
second step of electric heater is turned on and then the
third step with the same activation criteria.
If the outdoor unit is not running because of failure, it is
possible to perform the heating through backup heaters.
See Par. 109.3 in the variable table.
