4.1 Visual Inspection
If a connector shows any discoloration caused by heat, its mating connector is
also defective and must also be replaced.
Check the following:
1. Check the cabling between the power supply and the external equipment.
2. Check if all connectors are plugged in firmly.
3. Check the power supply cable at the rear for mechanical damage.
If necessary, replace cables by new ones one by one until the defective connection
has been found.
Obvious damage of minor importance can be corrected at once, assuming that the
appropriate equipment is available. In case of severe damage, the power supply must
be sent to the nearest repair facility.
4.2 Exchanging the Battery-Fuse F3
Figure 10: Location of the Battery Fuse F3 in the Backplane
The Battery-Fuse F3 protects the power supply from excessive current and a reversely
connected battery.
There will be no visible sign if the fuse is blown except that a connected battery will not
take over when there is no AC input available.
Make sure mains cable and battery cable are disconnected from input
connectors X1 respectively X3 before exchanging battery fuse F3.
