3.4) F210S signalling and programming
Two LEDs, "DL1" and "DL2" and a jumper "JP1", are present on the photocell receiver that are used for the function signals
and programming.

4) Testing
Each individual component of the automation system
requires a specific testing phase.
Perform the following sequence of operations for the testing
of the F210S:

Some points require that the motor is in movement
for the control; as the automation MAY not be ade-
quately SAFE, the maximum attention must be given
during these controls.
1. Make sure that all that is foreseen in the present manual,
in particular chapters 1 "Warnings" and 3 "Installation" is
fully abided by.
2. Disconnect the power supply to the system to which the
F210S photocell is connected.
If there is not a sensitive edge connected to the F210S
photocell, proceed with the control from point 7.
3. Disconnect the sensitive device from the RX terminals
and measure the resistance of the device with an ohm-
meter, checking that the value is between 7700Ω and
8700Ω (nominal 8200Ω).
4. Push the sensitive edge to activate it and measure once
again the resistance. Check that the resistance is lower
than 500Ω.
5. If contact S is used (with series resistance), connected in
parallel to the sensitive edge to exclude the inversion after
the activation of the edge (see chap. 3.3.1), make sure
that the series resistance to the contact is between
7700Ω and 8700Ω (8200Ω nominal).
6. Activate contact S and check that the overall resistance
is between 3850Ω and 4300Ω (4100Ω nominal)
7. Reconnect the sensitive device to the RX terminals
8. Do not place obstacles between TX and RX and supply
power to the motor or control unit that controls the sys-
tem. The photocell performs an auto diagnosis during the
first starting phase that is signalled by the rapid flashing
of the DL1, than the communication with the motor or
control unit begins (signalled by the alternating flashing of
DL1 and DL2). This phase normally lasts just a few sec-
onds but can last up to as much as a minute.
DL1 (SENSITIVE EDGE)
Signalling LED of the sensitive edge status

DL2 (PHOTOCELL)
Signalling LED of the infrared signal intensity received from the TX (See Table 1)
JP1 (PROGRAMMING)
Used to program the intervention direction of the photocell
Because the photocell cuts in during the down manoeuvre, the dual position JP1 jumper
allows the rotation direction of the motor that corresponds to the down manoeuvre to be
programmed (see step 11 in chapter 4 "Testing"). After programming, the activation
direction is also assigned to the remote control devices: button 1 or ▲ up command, but-
ton 2 or ■ stop command, button 3 or ▼ down command.
9. If communication occurs correctly the DL1 LED (SENSI-
TIVE EDGE) must be off and the DL2 (PHOTOCELL) must
be flashing. If this is not so, refer to Table 1 to identify the
operating status of the F210S photocell or to obtain pos-
sible indications concerning the action to take.
10. If necessary, improve the alignment by directing the TX
and RX lenses as shown in figure 7. Follow the signals of
the DL2 LED: the slower the flash the better the align-
ment; the best adjustment is when there is a flash
approximately once every second.
11. To check the optical presence detector (type D) of the
F210S photocell, and to make sure that there is no inter-
ference with other devices, pass a 5 cm diameter cylin-
der across the optical axis, first near the TX, then near the
RX and finally between the two (see figure 13) and make
sure that in all cases during the closing manoeuvre the
device recognises the obstacle and inverts to the open-
ing manoeuvre; if the inversion direction is opposite to
that required, move the JP1 jumper to the other position
and repeat the test.
