* NOTE: Some components may be pre-assembled by the
manufacturer.
WARNING: Before beginning any service work turn
off the PTO, set the parking brake, turn off the ignition, and
disconnect the spark plug wire(s).
Dust Skirt Installation
1. With the dust skirt (A, Figure 1) aligned with the catcher
frame (B) as shown, slip the large holes (C) in the skirt up
and over the frame brackets (D).
2. Wrap the front and sides of the dust skirt around and over
the front and sides of the catcher frame, slipping the five
hanger holes (E, Figure 1) over the frame pegs (F).
Catcher Cover Assembly
1. Place the catcher cover (A, Figure 2) over the top of the
catcher frame assembly (B), and insert the frame pegs (C)
through the holes (D) in the cover.
2. Using a 1/2" socket wrench, secure the capped washer nuts
(E, Figure 2) onto the frame pegs.

Muffler Guard Installation
1. Remove the existing hardware (A, B, Figure 3) from the right
rear of the unit as shown. Retain the hardware.
NOTE: There are two flat washers located between the bum-
per tube and the rear of the unit. Be sure to retain these as
well.
2. Install the bumper reinforcement (C, Figure 3) over the right
bumper tube as shown, securing with the bolt (B) removed in
Step 1. Do not tighten.
3. Install the muffler guard (D, Figure 3) against the right bum-
per tube, securing with the hardware (A) removed in Step 1.
NOTE: Be sure to reinstall the two flat washers between the
bumper tube and the rear of the unit.
4. Tighten the hardware (A, B, Figure 3) to 11 lb-ft (15 Nm).
Attach Cover / Frame Assembly to Rider
1. Install the catcher frame brackets (A, Figure 4) onto the bum-
pers (B).
2. Insert the clevis pins (C, Figure 4) through the holes on each
side of the catcher frame brackets, and secure with the hair-
pins (D).
NOTE: For two-piece bumpers, use the bottom set of holes
(E, Figure 4). For one-piece bumpers, use the top set of
holes (F).
Catcher Boot Installation
1. Raise the mulching cover (not shown for clarity, refer to the
Operator's Manual.
2. Install the 5/16 x 3/4" carriage bolt (A, Figure 5) out through
the middle hole in the side of the mower deck, and secure
with the 5/16" bolt retainer (B).
NOTE: Your rider may come with this hardware already
installed.
3. Secure the bottom of the catcher boot (C, Figure 5) to the
mower deck with a 5/16" flat washer (F) and 5/16" nylock nut
(G). Tighten securely.
NOTE: If provided, use the securing hardware that came
with your rider.
4. Install the top of the catcher boot (C, Figure 5) onto the
mower deck, making sure the slots (D) in the boot fit secure-
ly onto the tabs on the mulching cover hinge (E).
5. Insert one 5/16 x 1" carriage bolt (H, Figure 5) out through
the front hole in the mower deck and catcher boot, and
secure with a 5/16" flat washer and 5/16" nylock nut. Tighten
securely.
6. Lay the rear bracket (I, Figure 5, inset) against the rear of
the catcher boot, and secure both to the mower deck with
the remaining 5/16 x 1" carriage bolt, 5/16" flat washer, and
5/16" nylock nut. Tighten securely.
NOTE: Use the top hole in the rear bracket (J, Figure 5,
inset) for 28" (71 cm) mower decks. Use the bottom hole (K)
for 33" (84 cm) mower decks.
7. Lower the mulching cover.
