Vigorimeter

Range of application
Measuring of the muscular strength is indispensable in diagnosticating the following diseases:
6.1
Central nerve troubles
a) Traumatic cerebral lesions (Contusio) accompanied by spasms or by latent pareses,
postoperative crises after cerebral interventions,
b) cerebro-organic processes as a consequence of inflammations, encephalitis,
encephalomyelitis, tumors, embolisms or mollifications, Little's disease, mobility
disturbances as a consequence of a disease of the extrapyramidal system.
6.2
Troubles mainly caused by diseases of the spinal cord
a) Traumatic cervical and bulbar disturbances, contusio medulae, paraplegic lesions,
b) pictures of the general condition after inflammatory diseases, myelitis, acute ascending
spinal paralysis (Landry's paralysis) tumors, syringomyelia, troubles of the spinal column in
connection with internal diseases, intoxications,
c) diseases in connection with the material spinal systems, spastic spinal paralysis, progres-
sive spinal muscular atrophy, amyotrophic lateral sclerosis, neural muscular atrophy, myo-
pathy.
6.3
Troubles of the muscular system
a) Traumatic: muscular laceration, crises after fractures, atrophy by disuse.
b) muscular diseases, especially progressive muscular dystrophia (ERB), myasthenia.
This enumeration of indications is not complete, however, it shows that thanks to its
extraordinary method of application a dynamometer of the type as above is most appropriate
to control the patient's rehabilitation, or to help him to recover his muscular strength.
Therefore, this is a diagnostic means which will be welcomed by the majority of all
practitioners.
