FITTING INSTRUCTIONS:
1. First note down the radio code and then remove the earth clamp from
the battery. Remove the carpet and rear bulkhead panel from the boot.
Remove the side panels from the boot. Take off the bumper, take care
with the sidelight wiring in the bumper. Saw a section out of the bumper
as shown in Figure 1. Remove rearmost exhaust silencer and heat
shield.
2. Position the towbar under the vehicle with holes A and B over the exis-
ting holes in the chassis and fix four M10x1.25x30 bolts at A and B
together with spring and flat washers. Drill ø10.5mm holes at C through
the floor. Take Care! Watch out for the wiring loom in the boot!!
Position backplates D against the floor, with holes I over the holes C you
have just drilled, and fix with two M10x1.25x30 bolts with spring was-
hers and nuts. Fit spacer plates G between the ball plates and towing
eye and fix at hole H one M12x65/21.2 bolt with flat washer and self-loc-
king nut.
3. Replace the bumper, fit two M10x1.25x30 bolts including spring and flat
washers in the existing threaded holes inside the bumper in holes E. Fit
the ball hitch to the towbar, as shown in the sketch, between the ball pla-
tes and fix with one M12x65/21.2 bolt and one M12x70/26.2 bolt,
together with socket plate, flat washers and self-locking nuts. Tighten all
nuts and bolts to the torque stated in the Table.
4. Replace the heat shield and fit one M6x30 bolt with spring washer and
bodywork washer (ø25mmx65x1.5) in hole F. Replace everything that
was removed under point 1.

NOTE:
* Remove the insulating material from the contact area of the fitting points.
* All bolts are quality 8.8 - nuts 8. or when mentioned in fitting instructions
10.9 / 10.
* Don't forget the spring- and plain washers.
* Please consult your car dealer, or owners manual for the max. permissi-
ble towing mass.
* It is recommendable to retighten all fixing bolts and nuts after the towbar
has been in use for some 1000 km/600 miles.
* Do not drill through brake-or fuellines.
* Remove (if present) the plastic caps from the spot welding nuts.
