4.5 MOUNTING HAND REMOTE SOCKET
1. Determine a mounting location for the hand remote socket. Make sure the area behind your selected location is clear.
2. Drill the three holes as shown in the figure on page 6 and install using the supplied hardware. You can use the rubber cap as a
template.
3. Once your remote socket is mounted you can route the wires back to where your contactor is located.
4. Splice the end of the red wire to an ignition (keyed) controlled power source using the supplied wire splice. You may need to use a test
light to locate a suitable wire. The wire should only have power when the key is in the ON position.
5. Secure the cable with the supplied cable ties.
Wiring the winch
1. Slips the boots onto pertinent cables and make electrical connection in accordance with the wiring diagram. Slide the boots
onto all the electrical connections made.
2. Run battery power cables carefully under hood of vehicle, avoiding interference with moving parts and abrasion points
which could potentially cause electrical short.
3. Attach Black Cable to Negative Battery Terminal (-), followed by Red Cable to Positive Battery Terminal (+). Refer to Winch
Operation Section of this manual for proper functioning; if drum rotates in the incorrect direction when control switch is pres-
sed, please check the Wiring Diagram A.

MONO CAUTION: Do Not Connect Cables to Battery until unit is completely wired to control box and installed on vehicle. Reserve
for last step of installation.
