Recording Cassettes
1. Insert an audiocassette with the side on which you
wish to record facing forwards (full reel on the right).
Ensure that the cassette is not copy-protected (the
copy protection tab on the top narrow side of the
cassette must not have been removed).
2. Select the recording source with the FUNCTION button
(30/42) and then start the source. The sound source
which you are listening to is the one from which the
recording is made. The recording level is controlled
automatically. Any changes to the sound and volume
do not affect the recording.
3. Please press the b record button (25) (the
back button is automatically pressed down at the same
time). Recording now begins. All previous recordings
are automatically erased.
4. The recording can be interrupted briefl y using the II
pause key (20), or stopped by means of the
stop/eject button (21).
Playing CDs
Proceed as follows in order to listen to a CD
1. Switch the device on by pressing the POWER button
(1/36).
2. Now use the FUNCTION button (30/42) to select CD
mode so that you can listen to a CD.
3. Please open the CD compartment (7) by pressing the
OPEN/CLOSE button (8). In the display (6) the word
„OPEN" appears.
4. Insert an audio CD with the printed side facing up-
wards on to the central cone so that the CD clicks into
place and then close the lid of the CD compartment.
AUDIO CDs:
In the display the symbols "Cd" and "ESP" appear
together with the number of tracks and the total playing
time. Press the
II button (10/46) to play back the
CD. The CD is played from the fi rst track onwards.
The track currently being played and the time that has
elapsed are shown in the display. With the help of the
numeral buttons you can select the desired title/track.
Example: In order to play song number 05 please
press the 5 key: the fi gure "05" fl ashes. Start playback
with the
II button (10/46). Track number 12 can be
heard by pressing the 1 key followed by the 2 key.
CDs in MP3 Format:
In the display the symbols "STOP" and "ESP" appear
together with the number of folders e.g. 04 and the
total number of tracks. Press the
play the CD. The CD is played back from the fi rst track
onwards and from the fi rst folder. The song currently

being played and the time that has elapsed are shown
in the display. With the PRE-UP or PRE-DN buttons
(15/17/43/53) you can select the individual folders.
Keeping the button briefl y pressed starts the track
search.
With the number buttons you can then select the
desired title/track.
Example: In order to play back track number 05 ple-
ase press the number 5 key; the number "005" fl ashes.
Begin playback with the
number 112 can be heard by pressing the number
1 key twice followed by the 2 key (depending on the
play-
CD). If the MP3-CD contains several folders the track
number of the entire CD is shown, e.g. track 135 is in
the fourth folder with the number 03.
5. By briefl y pressing one of the !/ I
buttons (9/38/47) you can jump one track forwards or
/
backwards. If the button is held down while the track is
being played the music search starts
(the sound is muted).
6. In order to remove a CD, please press the
button (11/48), open the CD compartment and lift the
CD carefully out.
Always keep the CD deck closed.
Note
If a disc has been inserted the wrong way round, or
:
no disc has been inserted, the symbol „CD READ" appears
in the display followed by „NO DISC".
II (10/46)
You can briefl y interrupt the playing. The symbol in the
display (6) fl ashes. Press the
playback.

Press twice:
Press three times: This plays the song before etc. If
I /n TUN/SKIP (9/47)
With this button you can jump to the next or next-but-one
II key (10/46) to
track etc.. If the button is kept pressed down, the machine
starts to search through the tracks.
