points or the shop where they were bought.
Never throw batteries into a fi re.
Set the volume with the VOLUME control (4).
FM Stereo LED/Switch
The LED (21) lights up if a broadcasting station is recei-
ved in stereo quality. If the broadcasting station rustles,
switch the selector (17) to FM.
Headphone socket
Please use headphones with a 3.5 mm jack plug inserted
into the PHONES socket (3). The loudspeaker is mute.
CD deck transport protection
Please open the CD compartment (24) by pressing the
PUSH/OPEN button (20). Remove the transport protec-
tion from the CD player if present before use.
Switch-off
The machine is turned off when the function selector
switch (7) is in the TAPE/POWER OFF position and all
tape functions are switched off. The POWER (10) control
lamp goes off. Unplug the device.
BBS ON/OFF (5)
This is used to amplify the bass sounds. The switch can
be in one of two positions, ON or OFF.
Listening to the Radio
1. Turn the function selector switch (7) to the RADIO
position.
2. Select the desired frequency band with the band
selection switch (17).
VHF Stereo
= FM ST
VHF
= FM;
Medium wave = AM (mono)
3. For VHF/FM mode pull out the telescopic antenna
(23) and turn it to improve reception.
4. Tune into the desired station using the TUNING
regulator (22).
5. To switch off the radio, shift the function selector (7)
to the POWER OFF position.
Cassette Operation
Playing Cassettes
1. Select the TAPE function with the function selector
(7).
2. Press the STOP/EJECT button (26) in order to open
the cassette compartment.
3. Insert a recorded audiocassette into the compart-
ment with the tape opening facing upwards and the
side you wish to listen to facing the front (full spool
to the right). Then close the cassette compartment
again.
4. Press the PLAY button (29) in order to listen to the
tape.
5. In order to stop the playback briefl y, press the
PAUSE button (25). Press it again when you wish to
continue listening.

6. Playback is stopped by pressing the STOP/EJECT
button (26).
7. Wind the tape forwards using the F.FWD button (27)
or backwards using the REW button (28) as required.
Always press the STOP/EJECT button (26) before swit-
ching to another function or when stopping the tape.
8. When the STOP/EJECT button (26) is pressed again,
the door of the cassette compartment opens.
Recording cassettes
1. Open the cassette deck as described under item 2 in
Playing Cassettes.
2. Insert an audiocassette with the side to be played
facing out (full reel on the right). Make sure that both
erase protection tabs on the cassette are not broken
off; otherwise recording is not possible.
3. Select the recording source with the function selector
switch (7). The source you are hearing is recorded.
The recording level is controlled automatically.
4. Please press the RECORD button (30) (the PLAY
button is automatically pressed down at the same
time). The recording begins. All previous recordings
are erased automatically!
5. The recording can be briefl y stopped with the PAUSE
key (25) or stopped completely with the STOP/EJECT
key (26).
Playing CD's
1. Push the function selection switch (7) to CD.
2. Press the PUSH/OPEN button to open the CD com-
partment (20).
3. Insert a CD with the printed side facing up and close
the CD deck.
4. „- -" appears in the display (12) followed by the
number of tracks.
5. Press the
/ II CD play/pause button (16) to listen to
the CD. The PLAY/PAUSE control lamp (14) lights up.
The CD will play from the fi rst title. The current track
appears in the display.

button is held down while you are listening to a track
you can search for a particular piece of music

Note: If a disc is inserted incorrectly, or no disc is inser-

Description of the CD buttons:
PLAY/PAUSE
With the CD running, press once to
pause playback (the PLAY/PAUSE
control lamp (14) fl ashes). Press the
PLAY/PAUSE button again to restart
playback.
REPEAT
Press once (the REPEAT LED (13)
fl ashes): the current track is repeated
continuously.
Press a second time (the REPEAT LED
emits a fi xed light): the whole CD is
played continuously.
Press a third time: the function is
deactivated.
