Installation, Wearing Instructions and Adjustment:
When sewn into the Icon
®
Stryker Vest:
Release the front panel of the vest from the rear panel by pulling on the v-shaped hook and loop fastener tabs located on the right and left of
the bottom of the front panel of the vest at the waist. Pull vest on, over head, by inserting head into the neck opening and letting the vest rest
on the shoulders, making sure that the Stryker Back Armor is in place over the spine, and that the rear plastic plates are facing away from the
wearer's body. One at a time, grab the v-shaped hook and loop fastener tabs, pulling them forward and reattaching them to the bottom of the front
panel using the hook and loop fastener system. The vertical position of the vest may be adjusted by releasing the hook and loop fastener tabs on
the shoulders and then adding slack (vest moves down on the body) or removing slack (vest moves up on the body) in the straps. Once vertical
adjustment is satisfactory, be sure to securely reattach the shoulder hook and loop fastener tabs. Fit at the waist may be adjusted by releasing the
v-shaped hook and loop fastener tabs attached to the vest on the front panel and on the rear panel, on the right and left hand sides, at the waist.
Selecting only one v-shaped tab at a time, pull on the tab releasing it from the front or rear panel, and then reattach it to the same panel. Adding
slack to the elastic straps makes waist larger, removing slack from the elastic straps makes the waist smaller
In all cases, confirm that the Stryker Back Armor is in the correct position, and that it rests over the inside of the shoulder blades at the spine.
Be sure that the garment fits snugly and but not too tightly. Confirm that all v-shaped hook and loop fastener tabs are fastened securely in their
position on the front or rear panels.
In all cases, confirm that the protector movement is minimal and that wearing the protector and garment does not prevent moving and controlling
of all motorcycle controls. For maximum protection and safety, the Stryker Back Armor should not cause any discomfort and should not reduce the
rider's freedom of movement or restrict the reach to, or operation of, the motorcycle controls while in a normal riding position. If you are unable
to find a proper fit in the Stryker Back Armor version and/or Stryker Back Armor product you have chosen, please try another CE certified back
protector style.

SAFETY WARNINGS
SAFETY INSPECTIONS AND OBSOLESCENCE
Before Every Use:
Check all back protector and garment plastic pieces to confirm they are securely attached and are not cracked or worn. Check fasteners, straps,
and closures for wear, dirt, or anything else that may prevent them from operating correctly and fastening securely. PPE that is improperly fastened
cannot protect the user. If any Stryker Back Armor parts or any parts of the garment it is integrated into become broken, cracked, separated, torn,
or otherwise worn, replace the Stryker Back Armor immediately
In the Event of an Impact:
In the event of impact, the key elements of the Stryker Back Armor may become compromised and the Stryker Back Armor may no longer provide
the limited protection against the forces described in the "Use Restrictions and Limitations" section above, and the "Performance" and "Protection
Limitations" sections below. The damage may not be visible to the naked eye. In all cases of impact or accident replace the complete Stryker Back
Armor and the garment it is integrated into. Replacements can be purchased at Icon® retail locations.
3 year Rule:
In general, lightweight PPE such as the Stryker Back Armor should be replaced at least every 3 years even if the PPE has not suffered any damage.
Damage may be present and may not always be identified by a simple visual inspection.
PERFORMANCE
The Stryker Back Armor has undergone EC Type Examination to assure compliance with Directive 89/686/EEC. It has additionally been examined
and tested to assure its compliance with the appropriate technical Standard.
European standard EN 1621-2:2014 includes two performance levels in terms of the protection afforded. The degree of risk or hazard that a
motorcyclist will face is closely linked to the type of riding and the nature of the accident. Within standard EN 1621-2:2014 'Level 1' performance
is deemed as the minimum level required in order for the back protector to provide useful protection in an accident, and offers back protectors
with an optimum comfort level to suit all riding types. Where riders feel that their riding style or sport exposes them to an increased accident risk
EN 1621-2:2014 provides for a 'Level 2' which offers increased performance – however it is possible that this additional level of protection has an
increased penalty for the weight and ergonomics, and so may not be acceptable to all riders.
