Installing DIMMs

Ultra 10 dual in-line memory modules (DIMMs) are arranged in two banks, each
bank consisting of two slots.

1. Power off the system, remove the cover, and attach an antistatic wrist strap as
described in "Preparing for Installation" on page en-28.
2. Lay the system on its side as shown. Locate the DIMM slots.
3. Push the DIMM retainer clips apart.
4. Position the DIMM in the socket ensuring that the notches on the bottom are
aligned with the connector alignment bumps.
Caution – Hold DIMMs only by their edges.
5. Press firmly on both DIMM top corners until the DIMM is fully seated.
6. Continue with "Finishing the Installation" on page en-35.
Note – Do not mix DIMM sizes per bank.
