Introduction
This kit allows you to control remotely any A/V distant appliance, TV, VCR, Hi-Fi, satellite
and cable box, just by using your existing remote control! The remote control signal is
transmitted through walls and ceilings, up to 30 meters away.
3.
Set Contents
1 Transmitter: converts IR signals of remote controls into 433.92 MHz RF messages and
transmits them to the Receiver, even through walls and ceilings.
1 Receiver: converts RF messages back into IR signals to control the selected A/V source.
2 Mains power supply wall adapters 230V~50Hz to 9VDC 100mA
4. Transmission of your original remote control signals
Point your original remote control at the PowerMid Transmitter (ST10). As soon as you press
a button, the transmitter captures the IR command, converts it into a RF message, and
transmits it through the walls to the PowerMid Receiver (RE10). This unit converts the signal
into an IR message back, in order to control the selected A/V source. For example, you
can change channels on your satellite receiver while viewing it in another room. The
remote control signal is transmitted through walls and ceilings, up to 30 meters away.
5. Installing the system
1. Plug the PowerMid Transmitter (ST10) power supply adapter into a 230V~ outlet in the
room where you want to use your remote control (up to 20 feet/6 meters away from
where you normally sit). Plug the power supply adapter lead plug into the socket on the
rear of the ST10.
Make sure the front of the unit (with PowerMid name) is facing you. Fully extend the
antenna.
2. Plug the PowerMid Receiver (RE10) power supply adapter into a 230V~ outlet in the
room where your TV, VCR, Stereo, etc. is located (up to 20 feet/6 meters from it). Plug the
power supply adapter lead plug into the socket on the rear of the RE10.
Point the front of the Receiver towards the TV, VCR, stereo etc. Fully extend the antenna.
3. Point your remote control at the Transmitter. It receives the signals and transmits them
to the Receiver. The Receiver then re-transmits these infrared signals to your TV, VCR,
stereo, etc.
6. Expanding the system
-Add more Transmitters to use your remote controls in several rooms.
-Add more Receivers to control equipment in different rooms.
-Add an Infrared Extender (sold separately) if you need to place the PowerMid Receiver
next to your equipment instead of in front of it, or if your equipment is located inside a
closed cabinet.
7. Troubles shooting
Note: The Transmitter and Receiver will most likely be in different rooms (up to 30 meters
away). Range depends on:
1. The number of floors and walls the signal has to travel through and material these walls
and floors are made of.
2. Other 433MHz sources (e.g. wireless head phones, wireless speakers) can effect the
range. The best range will be achieved when these sources are switched off while using
the PowerMid. Cordless phones will not affect the PowerMid.
3. Some satellite receivers require more careful positioning of the PowerMid system. If any
difficulty is encountered, try to move the PowerMid (Receiver) a little to various positions
until it operates correctly.
