deviation and needs to be recalibrated after only one
year of use.
ATTENTION: calibrate the sensor only if you suspect
a deviation!

14.1 Sensor control

If you suspect a deviation of the sensor, first go through
the following steps:
1. Place the sensor in a CO
indoors or 2 hours outside).
2. Connect the sensor to a TechGrow CO
with Min/Max display.
3. Reset the Min/Max value of the CO
4. Leave the sensor and controller at least 8 hours.
5. Check the minimum measured value of the
controller.
6. If the minimum value is below 380 ppm or above
440 ppm, your CO
sensor needs to be calibrated.
2
7. Perform the calibration according to the instructions
in sections 14.2 and 14.3.
8. Repeat this sensor check after calibration.

14.2 Preparation for calibration

1. Place the sensor at least half an hour in a CO
neutral environment (+/- 400 ppm) such as a
backyard or balcony, or at least 8 hours in a
ventilated room where no persons, plants or pets
are present during this period. Do this preferably
during the day, when the CO
the 400 ppm. In the evenings, trees and plants
release CO
, increasing the CO
2
ppm.
If the minimum value is not much lower than 370
ppm, or not much higher than 430 ppm, it is not
necessary to recalibrate the sensor, since the CO
value of fresh air is between 380 ppm and 420 ppm.
A deviation of +/- 5% is usual with this type of
measuring equipment; keep this in mind when
setting your CO
values. A higher deviation makes it
2
worthwhile to calibrate. Proceed with step 2.
2. To calibrate the sensor, switch DIP switch 1 to
position "ON". This prevents undesired calibration
by electronic/dimmable control gear, which can
cause many failures. Go through the following steps:
a.
Open the housing of the sensor.
b. Locate DIP switch 1.
c.
Switch DIP switch 1 to position "ON" with a pen
or small screwdriver.
d. The sensor is ready to be calibrated.
