Application Tips

Fixator

When using the fixator for patient cases with suf-
ficient remaining dentition (assured occlusion),
thus ensuring sufficient jaw support:
▷ Do not tighten the rear screw of the fixator.
This ensures maximum, optimal interlocking of
the jaws during the scan process.
The tiltable upper element of the fixator
may not be put into the scanner when not
secured (affixed)!
▷ Always tighten the lateral screw of the
fixator.
When using the fixator for patient cases where no
support of the jaws can be achieved through the
remaining dentition (terminal occlusion):
▷ Articulate the models with the supporting pin
position set to zero.
▷ Tighten the rear screw of the fixator.
NOTE:
Faulty automatic assignment of jaw models!
▷ When using the fixator (also applies for jaw
scans), only place models with plaster base in
the scanner!

focus. In the scanner, the scan focus is located on
the level of the tilting axis. For correct positioning,
it is recommend to use the provided measuring
template.
▷ Position the measuring template on the upper
side of the tilting axis.
▷ Check if the areas of the jaw model to be
scanned are within the marked measuring range.
