Step 4: Input Group Wiring
To connect a daylight sensor, occupancy sensor, infrared (IR) receiver, and/or IEC PELV / NEC
provided with the devices. Diagrams for the input terminals are shown below.
Note: The ESN unit accepts only one IR input (either daylight/IR sensor or IR receiver) per group.
Com: Common
Switch: IEC PELV / NEC
IR: IR Receiver*
Daylight: Daylight Sensor
Occ: Occupancy Sensor
20 V: 20 V-
Note: Maximum wire run length to each input not
to exceed 150 ft (46 m).
* Note: Only one IR device may be connected per input. If the IR signal from a daylight
sensor is connected, a wall control may not be connected to the same input, and
vice-versa.
** Connect the gray wire on -R model occupancy sensors.

DO NOT WIRE WHEN LIVE! Switch off power to all power feeds via
circuit breaker before wiring or servicing the ESN unit.
Buttons and LEDs in the unit are used for programming and
troubleshooting. If line voltage shield is removed, the unit must be
accessed by a certified electrician, following local codes.
Note: There are four input groups;
each group has the same inputs as shown in the diagram below.
Input Group Wiring
• 20 to 12 AWG (0.5 to 4.0 mm
• Strip length: 1/4 in (6 mm)
• Torque: 5 in•lb (0.5 N•m)
