Installing device driver software

At this point, Microsoft Windows will install the necessary drivers automatically,
which can take up to a few minutes.
6. Wait until the installation is finished. When installation is finished the
following notification will appear:
Your devices are ready to use
Device driver software installed succesfully.
7. Execute the Agrilaser software to start the configuration of the Agrilaser
Autonomic.
The Agrilaser Autonomic may require some time to initialize. When
connection cannot be established upon startup, close the application
and restart the application after a few seconds. Also make sure all
cables are connected properly.
4. Configuring software
The user interface of the Agrilaser Autonomic software application consists
of the following menu items:
• Login screen
• Overview
• Edit pattern
• Timeslots
• Interval
• Settings
An overview of the menu items is shown on the following pages.
The Installation Guide provides a detailed instruction on using the
Agrilaser Autonomic software, in which you will be guided through the
basic steps in configuring the Agrilaser Autonomic.
4.1 Login screen (figure 1.1)
1. Password: Enter password here. The default password is '0000'.
2. Menu:
• About: Information about the application.
• Language: Change the language.
• Forgot password: Instructions on how to retrieve a new password.
• Login: Login after writing your password.
The Agrilaser Autonomic software runs only at Windows 7 or
Windows 8 operating systems. Software compatible with Windows XP
is available on request. Contact Bird Control Group.
The Agrilaser Autonomic default password is: '0000'
4.2 Overview (figure 1.2)
1. Laser status: 'Bursting', 'Waiting for next burst', 'Preparing for burst' or
'Standby'.
2. System time
3. Timeslots: Active timeslots are marked black.
4. Battery status: Status in case battery is used, otherwise status is 'OK'.
5. Laser status ('Active' or 'Inactive').
6. Laser position: The position panel shows the position of the motor in degrees
of the bearing and elevation. If laser is moving, the current waypoint position
is shown and the moving direction is marked green (up, down, right or left).
7. Menu:
• Patterns: Pattern overview (section 4.3) and edit pattern (section 4.4).
• Timeslots: Activate and set timeslots (section 4.5).
• Interval: Set time between execution of patterns (section 4.6).
• Settings: General settings (section 4.7).
8. Log out.
9. Start/Stop: Press 'Start' to activate the Agrilaser Autonomic. When the
laser is running, press 'Stop' to interrupt the burst sequence.
4.3 Patterns (figure 1.3)
The patterns panel shows which patterns are created and at which timeslots
are assigned to these patterns.
1. Time slot selection: Time slots assigned to the pattern are marked white.
2. Test burst: Perform a test burst of the selected pattern.
3. Edit pattern: Create a new pattern or edit an existing pattern (section 4.4).
4.4 Edit pattern (figure 1.4)
1. START/ STOP laser: Button to activate and deactivate the laser.
2. Waypoint: The waypoint counter shows how many waypoints the pattern
contains.
3. Save new waypoint: Saves the current position of the laser as a new
waypoint.
4. Delete last waypoint: Deletes the last waypoint of the pattern. The laser
moves back to the previously saved waypoint.
5. Edit pattern name: Option to provide the pattern with a unique name.
6. Cancel: Cancels the editing process. All changes will be discarded.
7. Clear pattern: Clears the pattern of its waypoints and pattern name.
8. Save pattern: Saves all changes made to the pattern.
4.5 Timeslots (figure 1.5)
1. Timeslots status: Active timeslots are marked black.
2. Timeslot activation: Activate/deactivate the timeslot. Active timeslots are
highlighted white.
3. Timeslot settings: Set the begin and end time of the timeslot.
4.6 Interval (figure 1.6)
1. Interval setting: Set the time of interval between the pattern sequences.
4.7 Settings (figure 1.7)
1. Change password: Change the system password. The default password
is '0000'.
2. Power-up behavior: Specify if the laser should start in bursting mode or
standby mode when the system is powered.
3. Laser heater: Specify whether the Agrilaser should use its internal laser
heater when ambient temperatures are low.
4. Projection speed: Set the speed with which the laser moves during bursting.
5. Reset: Restore the Agrilaser Autonomic to factory settings. All saved data
will be lost.
