Cooking tips

The following factors may affect the cooking result:
Position of food
Place the thicker parts toward the outside of the plate and the thinner parts toward the centre of the
plate, distributing the food evenly. To the extent possible, do not overlay them.
Cooking durations
Start cooking on a short duration, evaluate the result at the end of this duration and extend it
depending on the desired result. Excessive cooking can generate smoke and burn the foods.
Cook the food evenly
Foods such as chicken, hamburgers and steaks must be turned once during cooking.
Depending on the type of food, mix it from the outside toward the centre of the plate once or twice
during cooking (if applicable).
Leave time to rest
Once cooking is complete, let the food rest in the oven for an appropriate period of time to allow the
cooking cycle to come to an end and the food to cool gradually.
Evaluate whether the food is cooked or not
The colour and hardness of the food helps to determine if it is cooked. This includes:
– Steam coming out of all part of the food, not just the edges.
– Poultry joints may be moved easily.
– Pork or poultry do not contain traces of blood.
GB
– Fish is opaque and can be easily cut with a fork.
Browning dish
When using a browning dish or a self-heating container, always place it on a heat-resistant insulating
material (for example a porcelain plate) to avoid damaging the rotating plate and the guide ring.
Microwave compatible plastic film
When cooking very fatty foods, make sure that the plastic film is not in contact with the food,
because it may melt.
Microwave compatible plastic cooking utensils
Some microwave compatible plastic utensils may not be suitable for cooking very fatty or very sweet
foods. In addition, the preheating duration specified in the instructions for the plate must not be
exceeded.

Care and maintenance

Repair
Perform the following checks before contacting a repairer.
1. Place a cup of water (approximately 150 ml) in the oven and close the door fully. The oven light
goes out when the door is securely closed. Leave the oven on for 1 minute.
2. Is the oven light on?
3. Is the cooling fan working?
(Place your hand on the ventilation openings at the rear.)
4. Is the rotating plate turning?
(The rotating plate can rotate in a clockwise or counter-clockwise direction. This is normal.)
5. Is the water in the oven hot?
If the answer to any of these questions is negative, check your wall power outlet and the fuses in the
switchboard.
If the wall power outlet and the fuses are working normally, CONTACT THE NEAREST AUTHORISED
REPAIR CENTRE.
Safety Instructions for the repair
Caution: RADIATION OF MICROWAVES
1. The high voltage capacitor remains charged after disconnection. Short-circuit the negative
terminal of the high voltage capacitor with the oven frame (using a screwdriver) to discharge the
capacitor before touching the oven.
2. During repairs where the parts listed below may be removed, this may give access to potentials
above 250 V relative to the earth.
Magnetron
High voltage transformer
High voltage capacitor
High voltage diode
High voltage fuse
3. The following situations can cause excessive exposure to microwaves during the repair work.
Incorrect assembly of the magnetron.
Incorrect assembly of the door locks, the door hinges or the door.
Incorrect assembly of the switch supports.
The door, the door seal or the casing if damaged.
