ParaPost®Fiber WHITE
7. Select the ParaPost Fiber White Post that corresponds to the
last drill used to prepare the post space. Remove colored
band from post head. Insert post into post space (Fig 04).
Check carefully for occlusal clearance. Remove post; shorten
as necessary from either the apical or occlusal end (as clinical
judgement dictates) with a Carborundum separating disk (Fig.
05). (Wet the post with water before cutting and rotate the
post when cutting to ensure an even cut of each fiber.)
8. After try-in and before cementing, gently clean post with an
alcohol wipe.
9. (Optional) Brush silane onto the post and allow to dry.
10. Condition the canal and/or apply primer/adhesive as per
cement manufacturer's instructions (we recommend ParaPost
Cement).
11. Use the cement components according to manufacturer's
instructions and apply to post surface. Use a Lentulo Spiral
to coat the walls of the post space with cement, if setting
time of cement will allow (Fig. 06).
12. Seat post immediately, slowly inserting the post to full
depth, allowing excess cement to vent (Fig. 07). Apply
pressure for about 60 seconds.
13. In the event light curing is required, wipe away any excess
cement before activating the light and follow manufacturers
instruction.
14. Complete the core and fabricate the final restoration (Fig.
08).
Cleaning and Sterilization
Posts: Clean ParaPost Fiber White post(s) in ultrasonic cleaner
for 5 minutes. Remove and thoroughly rinse in tap water; dry
with a paper towel. Place post(s) into a small, clean covered
glass container. Add a ready-to-use liquid sterilant solution
containing 7.50% hydrogen peroxide and 0.85% phosphoric
acid, (Sporox II**), covering the post(s). Let stand at room
temperature for a minimum of 6 hours but not to exceed 24
hours. Pour off solution into sink and add sterile water to glass
container covering the post(s). Gently agitate rinse solution for
two minutes, then discard solution into sink and dump post(s)
onto sterile sponge in clean container. Affix cover and store until
ready for use.
Follow solution manufacturer's instruction.
Never re-use solution - never add fresh solution to used
solution.
Always discard solution after each use!
Autoclave Sterilization Option: ParaPost Fiber White may
be dynamic-air-removal steam sterilized (4 minutes at 132°C
followed by drying for 20 minutes). Follow manufacturer's
recommendations. Posts must be sealed in a sterilization pouch
before use in autoclave.
