The best level of stimulus is when the patient perceives the current passing throu-
gh the tissue; this should provoke a light initial contraction of the muscles (a sli-
ght trembling), but never too intense.
There are two important advantages here:
1) you avoid the risk of muscular over -contraction and the accumulation of lactic
acid;
2) the frequency of muscular contractions may be much higher than with tradi-
tional gym, to get best results faster.

THERAPEUTIC TREATMENT
In rehab: post trauma and post surgery treatment of muscular atrophy; recovery
of muscular strength; healing of contracture; motor recovery.
In welfare: pain relief; increased endorphins; maintenance of muscular tone.
Muscular damage due to electro stimulation is most unlikely , as long as the
intensity is increased gradually. Any interference in the menstrual cycle (e.g. early,
late, heavy or light periods) are extremely subjective and variable. W
mend, therefore, to avoid treatments in the abdominal area during the actual
period and the days immediately before and after this. T o date, no side effects
have been noted concerning the use of electro stimulation during lactation.
However, we recommend not treating the upper body area during this time. W e
strongly advise against treating any parts of the body with serious skin problems.
Intended use: the Tesmed medical device is intended to be used exclusively for
the following treatment:
• Excitomotors = contraction of a muscle or a group of muscle fibres
• V asomotors = vasodilation effect
• Pain killer
= reduction of pain
See the relevant program in this instruction manual and get medical advice for
each problem.
More specifically, the equipment must not be used for:
• Electrodiagnosis,
• Vehiculation (introduction of medicinal ions),
• Experimental use,
• Operations not described in the examples and instructions provided in this
manual.

BEAUTY TREATMENT
In beauty: improvement of capillar y micro cir culation with more oxygen
supplied to tissues, thus producing better fat mobilisation; toning up and firming up
of tissues; draining of excess liquids; an increase in metabolism and cellular
activities; a reduction of localised fatty tissues and cellulite.
In sports: isolation of the muscular group being treated; saving of physical and
psychological energy; recruitment of a larger number of muscular fibres than is the
case with voluntar y contraction; training of under -used muscular fibres during
normal work-out sessions; shorter recovery periods; protection of the body's system
of tendons and muscles; improved blood circulation.
Results: all results in the aesthetics field are naturally subjective. W e can, in any
case, sustain that in the case of TONE UP, good results can be seen after just 15 days
with 5-7 regular and constant weekly sessions; cellulite treatment will require 30-40
