4. INSTALLATION
41. PREPARATION
The hull fitting and the hull valve are supplied and installed by the work site.
The sea water feeding hull fitting (EdM) should be placed as low as possible below the water line, in an area always immersed whatever the
boat's navigation rate may be.
The hull valve (V0) should be placed on the sea water feeding pipes, as close as possible to the hull fitting.
The reject hull fitting (R) should be placed above the water line.
42. PLACING THE UNIT
AQUA-BASE
- The
desalination unit should be installed below the water line, if possible.
- The Low Pressure pump (LP or BP for booster pump) should be installed below the water line.
- The main module should be bolted on a rigid horizontal surface, by using the flexible supports with which it is equipped.
- The filter (2) should be installed below the waterline if possible, vertically on a wall, by means of the equipped support. If necessary, it can be
slightly inclined in relation to the vertical position.
43. ASSEMBLING OF FITTINGS AND PIPES
Assembling of fittings.
When installing the unit it may be necessary to dismantle and assemble the fittings with which it has been
equipped.
WARNING : The fittings must be absolutely clean. Clean the fitting and its housing beforehand by
removing any remaining scraps of Teflon.
Wind Teflon round the fitting thread, by turning clockwise (Fig.2 p31). Place the fitting in its housing , and
tighten by hand. Insure tightening with a slight turn of a spanner.
Assembling of pipes.
The necessary pipes are supplied in rolls, to be cut to the right length depending on needs. The cut, using a
cutter; should be clean, without blunders, and perpendicular to the axis of the pipe.
WARNING : The pipes must remain completely clean Check, when installing, that no impurities have
been introduced, notably during cutting : sand, plastic chipping...
The pipes are connected as indicated in fig 16 page 34. The produced water pipe (F) is connected to the upper
part of the tank.
WARNING : Do not immerse the piping in the tank.
The rinsing (D) and cleaning (F) pipes are long enough to be immersed simultaneously in an auxiliary bucket
placed on the ground, during membranes rinsing and cleaning operations (Chap. 88).
To assemble a pipe on its fitting, proceed as shown on Fig.3 :
1- Place the hose clamp, without tightening, then place the pipe on the fitting,
2- Slide the hose clamp to the fitting level and tighten it with tongs.
3- To dismantle the pipe, slide the clamp with the help of a screwdriver, then free the fitting tube
44. ELECTRICAL CONNECTION (See Fig. 17 & 18p35)
WARNING :
- The AQUA-BASE unit is equipped with a circuit breaker insuring its protection and security. This doesn't insure the
protection of your installation which should be equipped with devices conforming to the current legislation.
- No other equipment should be fed from the AQUA-BASE unit box.
- Check beforehand that the unit voltage corresponds with the network.
The connection of the unit comes from the power electric box (Fig. 4p31), by means of a section cable of at
least 2.5 mm
, respecting the indicated polarities
