Step 6
Inspect, clean and remove any buildup in Centrifugal Pump Head (Figure 10).
a) Remove the fountain nozzle from the water plenum and clean.
b) Remove the water plenum from the top of the pump and clean any debris.
c) If debris is observed inside the pump head:
a. Loosen the four bolts securing the pump head to the motor mount (Figure 8).
i. Remove the bolts securing the pump together.
ii. Disassemble the pump head (3 parts) and clean all debris.
iii. Replace the impeller if any wear is indicated, as impeller wear can promote premature motor failure.
Refer to Replacement Parts section, part number 517318.
b. Reinstall centrifugal pump head components using the steps described in Step 5 of section Installation – Centrifugal
Fountain Head Conversion Kit. Tighten all bolts to 50 in-lb.
c. Visually inspect the impeller for wear at least once a year.
Step 7
Replace pump/motor assembly into float.
a) Move the pump/motor assembly back to the float.
b) Lower the motor end first through the hole in the center of the float and into the water.
c) Rotate the pump/motor assembly so the power cord is oriented with the power cord channel in the float
(Figures 2 and 3).
d) Continue lowering until each support tube rests in its corresponding float recess.
e) Tuck power cord along channel of float until it exits from the float and into water.
f)
Connect lanyard to eye-bolt of float (Figures 2 and 3).
Step 8
Restore electrical power.
a) Ensure all persons are removed from the water.
b) Remove the lock-out device at the power source.
c) Turn on power to the pump at the fuse box.
d) Connect the power cord directly into the outdoor-rated and grounded receptacle.
e) Verify the pump turns on and begins pumping water.
f)
Remove the power cord from the electrical supply if you need to turn the pump off.
Step 9
Test system operation.
a) Test system following instructions outlined in the System Operation Testing section of this manual.
b) The product should now be ready for operation. If the product does not operate properly,
consult the Troubleshooting section.
