Commissioning and operation
6.3

Tests before the commissioning

Prior to commissioning, after every change to the confi-
guration and after maintenance and repair work, quali-
fied safety personnel must perform and document a
complete thorough check of the safety functions.
Approval for operation is only allowed to be given once
the safety inspections have been passed.
The check must be made separately on each guard or
each safety switch for safety switches connected in series.
First check the stop function:
 Close the guard.
 Start the machine or system.
 Open the guard. The dangerous state must be brought
to an end, the green STATE LED flashes on the safety
switch.
 Close the guard again; the controller should re-enable
operation after a pre-set delay.
Then check the start function:
 Deactivate the machine or the system.
 Open the guard.
 Start the machine or system; if the safety function of the
guard is correct, the machine or system must not start.
