WARNING
WARNUNG
Risk of injury if disassembling the product!
Pneumatic actuators of the FC and FO type contain pre-loaded springs which automatically
return the actuator to the fail-safe position.
Disassembling these actuators is dangerous and should not be carried out by the
customer.
The pneumatic actuator must be disassembled only while in the fail-safe position after
the compressed air supply has been disconnected.
Operator's duty of care
The pneumatic actuators described here have been designed and manufactured after risk
assessment and in accordance with the applicable harmonised European standards. They
therefore represent the state of the art and ensure the required safety standards.
In real operating conditions, however, safety can only be maintained if the required safety
measures are also taken for the entire system.
The planner of the systems in which the valve with pneumatic actuator is installed, and the
operator of these systems, have a duty of care in planning, implementing, and supervising
these measures.
The operator must ensure the following:
The product is used only for its intended purpose, see Section 1 "Intended use", Page 31.
This particularly relates to the control air design parameters on which the order and
delivery were based.
The pneumatic actuator is operated only if in acceptable condition and functioning
correctly, and the safety devices on the compressed air supply side of the system are
checked regularly to ensure they are functioning correctly. The product is not used if
damaged or faulty. The product is sorted out immediately if damaged.
The product and accessories are installed only by persons who have the required training,
knowledge or experience.
The piping system is correctly laid and is regularly inspected.
The pneumatic actuator control is operated only by sufficiently qualified and authorised
personnel.
Personnel are instructed regularly on all matters related to the local regulations on
occupational health and safety and environmental protection, especially regarding
pressurised pipes and electrical devices if present.
The operating instructions for the valve and all other additional modules are applied.
