Use and maintenance instructions
This product is in compliance with the requirements stated in the following standards and/or
technical specifications: - EN ISO 4414:2010 Pneumatic fluid power - General rules and
safety requirements for systems and their components
Filters
The filters of the Series MC separate the air from its impurities, both solid and liquid. The
airflow has to follow the direction of the arrow indicated on the body. The maximum level (1)
is indicated on the bowl. Before the condensate reaches the maximum level (1), the drainer
(2) needs to be activated.
There are 4 models of drainers: semi-automatic/manual A , automatic B , depressurization
C and SMD (semi-automatic depressurization) D .
SEMI-AUTOMATIC/MANUAL: When in manual position, in order to remove the condensate,
you need to turn the nut (3) clockwise (~90°) and push it upwards; when the draining has
ended, release the nut and turn it anti clockwise (~90°). In the semi-automatic position,
the condensate is drained every time there is no pressure inside. It is possible to remove the
condensate also when there is pressure by pushing the nut upwards. In order to pass from the
semi-automatic to the manual position, rotate the nut anticlockwise; in order to pass from the
manual to the automatic position, rotate clockwise.
AUTOMATIC (not available on model 1/4): removes the condensate automatically in case of,
with or without pressure inside.
DEPRESSURIZATION: removes the condensate automatically when there is a variation in
pressure, according to the use of air.
SMD: is a semi-automatic drainer (the condensate is removed in absence of pressure) and of
the depressurization model (removes the condensate automatically when there is a variation
in pressure).

For replacement or for cleaning the filtering element (4) you need to interrupt the air flow
and depressurize the bowl (5), disconnect the bowl as shown in A , unscrew the deflector
(6) clean or replace the filtering element (4), then mount the deflector (6) connect the bowl
as shown in B and pressurize the bowl.
For cleaning the filtering element in "HDPE" or in "sintered bronze" of 5 or 25 micron
you need to use an air pressure flow from the inside towards the outside, hot water
and detergent or benzine. Do not use solvents, acids or brushes as these could corrode
or modify the initial filtering in a considerable way. In any case the filter will not be
regenerated for 100% and will not reach the flow of a new element.

Regulators and manifold regulators
The regulator Series MC regulates
the air pressure to the desired value which
can obviously not be higher than the line pressure.
In order to regulate you need to turn the knob (1),
rotating it clockwise or anti-clockwise,
in any case the right regulation
of the pressure has to be set upwards
and then block the rotation.

With the use of the kits shown below (with or without terminals) it is possible to unite "N"
regulators with a single inlet pressure. The outlet pressure (OUT port) of each regulator can
be set by adjusting the control knob (1), turning it clockwise or anti-clockwise, locking it
at the desired pressure.

Lubricators
The lubricators of the Series MC mix the oil with air. The oil percentage can be varied by
regulating the adjustment screw (3). The air flow has to follow the direction of the arrow
indicated on the body. The minimum oil level (1) and the maximum oil level (2) are indicated
on the bowl; when it drops below the minimum level you need to fill the bowl with oil. For
the models from 3/8-1/2 this operation can be carried out without interrupting the air flow;
for the model 1/4 it is necessary to depressurize the system before the operation. In order to
fill the bowl you need to: remove the nut (4); depressurize the bowl; remove the bowl (5) by
following the operations A ; fill the bowl up to the maximum level (2), connect the bowl (5)
by following the operations B and, finally, pressurize the bowl (5) by screwing the nut (4).

Filter-regulators
The filter-regulators of the Series MC
separate the air from impurities, both solid
and liquid and regulate the pressure
to the desired value which can obviously
not be higher than the line pressure.

Isolation valve
The Series MC isolation isolation valve
3/2 way (manually, pneumatically,
electro-pneumatically operated) are used
to pressurise or depressurise a system.
The manual valve is operated by pushing
the knob (1), by pulling the knob (1)
the air inlet is closed and existing air will vent
out from the system through the outlet (3).

When the valve is closed, it is possible
to lock it in this position (2) avoiding
it being opened.
The electro-pneumatic valves are operated
by using a solenoid valve (4)
(for MC104 use the complete electro-pilot
mod. 338-015/4C, for MC238
and MC202 use the complete
electro-pilot mod. 454-011/15C)
which is only actuated when the power
is switched on; the valve is fitted
with a manual override (7)
to facilitate regulation operations.
Attention, in case you require

the rear manual override, you need:
- for mod. 3/8-1/2, rotate the solenoid valve,
but not the seal below
- for mod. 1/4, the solenoid valve cannot
be rotated, turn the item upside-down.
The seal hole (11) always has to be
on the side of line air inlet.

The pneumatic valves are operated by using
the special end cover (5) (for MC104 use
the end cover mod. 308-033/16,
for MC238 and MC202 use
the end cover mod. 454-33/28),
which is threaded and to which
a fitting can be connected for
the operation by means of another valve.

Soft start valve
The soft start valve regulates the gradual
pressure build up in a Pneumatic system.
The pressurisation time is set
with the regulating screw (8);

During the draining, the rapid depressurisation of the system takes place if a 3/2 way valve
(manual, pneumatic or electro-pneumatic) is connected or a component which vents the
system (for ex. vms, vsc etc.).
This device cannot operate as a soft start valve when connected in applications that use
5/3 centres closed / centres open valves or with cylinders where the load factor exceeds 50%

Modular FRL
The modular assembly FRL allows different compositions according to the application needs
of the client. The assembled group is equipped with male and female tie-rods on which the
different bodies are placed according to the desired sequence. After that, the bodies are

fixed by means of two screws. At the end, thanks to the addition of a support on the plates
element
with threading it is possible to fix the entire group on a wall while separating it from the
surface. In case the use of a regulator or a filter-regulator is not necessary, the tie-rods can
be screwed among themselves using a couple of female-female tie-rods, the plates are then

fixed by means of screws. This type of modular assembly is available on the entire MC series
(in the measures 1/4-3/8-1/2-3/4). This improves the production of the different FRL
outcoming
groups considerably, making their mounting, maintenance and functioning easy and in
line air
conformity with the different necessities of the client.
