– Before opening the dust box (10), gently strike or tap it
against a firm surface to loosen the dust from the filter
element (25).
– Open the dust box flap (24) on the bottom and empty the
dust box.
– Check the filter element (25) for damage. If it is dam-
aged, replace it immediately.
– Shut the dust box flap (24) and reinsert the dust box from
below into the dust extraction system (15) until you hear
it click into place.
External Dust Extraction (see figure H)
In order to use dust extraction with a dust extractor, the ad-
apter box (26) (accessory) is required, which is inserted
into the dust extraction system (15) instead of the dust
box (10).
– To remove the dust box (10), press the two release
buttons (12) and pull the dust box downward out of the
dust extraction system (15).
– Reinsert the adapter box (26) into the dust extraction
system from below until you hear it click into place.
– Connect an extraction hose (28) (accessory) to the ex-
traction outlet (27). Connect the dust extraction
hose (28) to a vacuum cleaner (accessory). You will find
an overview of connecting to various vacuum cleaners at
the end of these operating instructions.
The dust extractor must be suitable for the material being
worked.
When extracting dust that is dry, especially detrimental to
health or carcinogenic, use a special dust extractor.
Setting the Drilling Depth (see figure I)
You can use the depth stop (29) to set the required drilling
depth X.
– Push the SDS plus application tool into the SDS plus tool
holder (2) as far as it will go. Otherwise, the movability of
the SDS plus drilling tool can lead to incorrect adjustment
of the drilling depth.
– Without switching it on, press the power tool firmly
against the surface you wish to drill. The SDS plus applic-
ation tool must be touching the surface.
– Press the button for depth stop adjustment (17) and
move the depth stop (29) so that the clearance X shown
in the figure corresponds with the required drilling depth.
Adapting the Dust Extraction System to the Tool Length
(see figure J)
To make working with short application tools more conveni-
ent, the length of the dust extraction system (15) can be ad-
apted.
– Press and hold the button (14) and slide the telescopic
guide (16) into the dust extraction system (15) until the
dust collector is close to the tip of the application tool.
– To extend the telescopic guide back out, press the
button (14) again.
Bosch Power Tools
Dust Collector for Drill Bits (see figure K)
– To change the dust collector (18), push the release
button (30) and pull the dust collector out of the dust ex-
traction system.
– To insert the dust collector (18), push it from above into
the dust extraction system (15) until you hear it click into
place.
Dust Collector for Hollow Core Bits (see figure L)
To drill with hollow core bits, the dust collector for drills (18)
must be replaced with a special dust collector (31) (access-
ory). When using the dust collector for hollow core bits, the
adapter box (26) (accessory), not the dust box (10), must
be used with external dust extraction for the dust extraction
system.
– If required, remove the dust collector for drill bits (18).
– To insert the dust collector for hollow core bits (31), push
it from above into the dust extraction system until you
hear it click into place.
– To remove the dust collector (31), press the catch (32)
outwards and pull the dust collector off upwards.
Operation
Products that are only sold in AUS and NZ: Use a resid-
u
ual current device (RCD) with a nominal residual current
of 30 mA or less.
Start-up
Pay attention to the mains voltage. The voltage of the
u
power source must match the voltage specified on the
rating plate of the power tool. Power tools marked
with 230 V can also be operated with 220 V.
Setting the Operating Mode
Use the "drilling/hammer drilling" selector switch (5) to se-
lect the power tool's operating mode.
– To change the operating mode, press the release
button (6) and turn the "drilling/hammer drilling" selector
switch (5) until it clicks into the required position.
Note: Only change the operating mode when the power tool
is switched off. Otherwise, the power tool may become dam-
aged.
Position for hammer drilling into concrete
or stone and for chiselling (chisel only with
accessory MV 200)
Position for drilling without impact in wood,
metal, ceramic and plastic and for screw-
driving
Setting the Rotational Direction
The rotational direction switch (7) is used to change the ro-
tational direction of the power tool. However, this is not pos-
sible while the on/off switch (9) is being pressed.
