7.1. Cascade mode installation
Connect the frequency converters to the motors,
the installation must comply with the provisions
under section 6.6.
Connect the transducer
temperature or fl ow rate) to the delivery manifold of
the pressure boosting set.
It is advised to install the pressure
transducers on the same point of the delivery
manifold and complete the installation with a
pressure gauge.
7.2. Cascade mode electrical connection
Connect the supply cables to the motors and to
the power supply following the instructions under
paragraph 6.5. The power supply must comply the
provisions of section 3.
The connection with the power supply must
be made with installation of a bipolar circuit
breaker (one for each frequency converter)
with proper size and with a B-type differential
switch (see section 6.5).
7.3. Cascade mode expansion board installation
The cascade mode expansion board must be
installed perpendicularly to the control board,
checking that the
connected, and that the board fi ts into the slides.
Make sure that the cascade expansion
board is properly connected, otherwise it's
not possible to use the cascade mode.
7.4. Cascade mode
variable speed pumps
By means a proper cable make the connection
of the clamps E4-E5-E6 of the fi rst frequency
converter to the clamps E8-E9-E10 of the next
frequency converter
Check the correct connection sequence
and check that terminals of each cable are
connected to the right clamp.
To comply
electromagnetic
cable length greater than 1 meter, it is
recommended the use of a shielded cable
with protection sheath connected on the
ground on each frequency converter.

7.5. Cascade mode with 1 variable speed
pump and 5 fi xed speed pumps.
Connect the clamps D1-D2-D3-D4-D5-D6 with
contactors (max. 250 Vac, and 500 mA) as shown
in the picture, and connect the motor cable and the
power supply cable of the related fi xed speed pump
to the contactor.
The connection with the power supply must
be made with installation of a bipolar circuit
breaker of proper size.
