NOTE THE FOLLOWING INFORMATION TO GUARANTEE
A HIGH LEVEL OF SAFETY:
IMPORTANT!
Keep the work area clean and tidy. Untidy work areas
increase the risk of accidents and injuries.
Do not allow other people to use the machine.
Visitors and spectators, above all children and people
who are ill or frail, should be kept away from the work
area.
Ensure that you store tools in a safe place. Tools
which are not in use must be locked in a dry place as
high as possible or were they cannot be accessed.
Always use the correct tool for the work in hand. For
example, do not use any small tools or accessories for
work which should actually be carried out using heavy
tools. Use the tools exclusively for the purpose for which
they are designed. Keep your tools clean and sharp at
all times.
Wear suitable clothing. Do not wear loose clothing or
jewellery. They may get caught in moving machine parts.
When carrying out this work, you must use work gloves
and non-slip work shoes. Long hair must have adequate
protection.
Use personal protection equipment. Wear safety
goggles, gloves and ear protection at all times. Always
wear tight-fitting gloves to change the bit.
Ensure that you are well-balanced and have a firm
footing at all times. Do not bend too far forwards or to
the side, for example, if you wish to reach for something.
Remove socket wrenches, etc. All spanners, etc. used
to change the tool must be removed before the machine
is switched on.
Remain alert at all times. Watch what you are doing.
Use your common sense. Do not use tools if you are
tired.
Check for damaged parts. Inspect the tool before you
use it. Are any of the components damaged? If you find
signs of minor damage, you should seriously question
whether the tool will nevertheless work perfectly and
safely. Ensure that moving parts are correctly aligned
and adjusted. Do the parts engage in each other
correctly? Are any of the components damaged? Has
everything been installed correctly? Have all the other
conditions for perfect operation been satisfied?
Damaged safety equipment, etc. must be properly
repaired or replaced by authorised personnel unless
expressly stated to the contrary in the operating manual.
Use approved parts only. Use only identical spare
parts for maintenance and repair work. Contact your
approved service centre for spare parts.
Warning! The use of accessories and attachment parts,
which are not expressly recommended, may result in
danger to people and property.
Specific safety information for the machine
Always switch off the machine before completing any
settings or maintenance work.
Check the environment in which you are working for
potential stumbling blocks.
A person working with this machine should not be
distracted if possible.
Use only auger bits which are in perfect condition, in
other words, which are well sharpened and do not have
any cracks, flaws, deformations, etc. Defective auger
bits must be replaced immediately.
The safety equipment on the machine must not be
removed or otherwise disabled in any circumstances.
Damaged or defective safety equipment must be
replaced without delay.
If you are distracted when working with the auger, first
finish the work that you are doing, before looking up.
Do not overload the machine so that it runs more slowly
and overheats.
