the communication on the bus cable can be disturbed by an incorrect
length of the cables which connect the ETWI device to the control unit.
Therefore, comply with the maximum cable length, indicated in the in-
struction manual of the control unit.
n 04. Make sure that the mounting surface chosen for ETWI is suitable
for a stable anchoring and then fix the mount (Fig. 5).
n 05. Disconnect the power from the control unit; disconnect the back-
up battery, if present. If you intend connecting ETWI to an external pow-
er supply, this devices must also be disconnected.
n 06. Read the sections of the control unit manual which concern the
connection of accessories.
n 07. Locate the terminals provided on ETWI (Fig. 6) and read Table A
to understand the function of each terminal.
n 08. Connect ETWI to the control unit. Note – If the control unit is not
provided with a 12/24V output, you must connect ETWI to an external
auxiliary power supply. If this occurs, refer to the manual of the power
supply to carry out the connections.
n 09. Configure the system as described in Chapter 4 of this manual,
before completing the installation as indicated in Fig. 7 and 8.
4 - SYSTEM CONFIGURATION AND
MEMORISATIONS

4.1 - Dip-switch configuration

To configure ETWI, set its dip-switches referring to Table B. Dip-switch-
es are used to select the address of ETWI and/or the desired WIEGAND
mode. It is also possible to select the Test function which activates the
relay and the LED on ETWI, every time ETWI receives a radio code of a
compatible transmitter, regardless of the consent given by the control unit.
4.2 - Addressing ETWI using dip-switches
It is possible to connect up to two ETWI on the same WIEGAND input
(on the control unit). In this case it is however necessary to set a differ-
ent address for each ETWI, configuring the dip-switches as indicated
on Table B.
WARNINGS! • The address used for one device, must be different
from that used for the other device. • The use of two different ETWI
connected to the same WIEGAND input (on the control unit), may not
be compatible with some control units. This may cause system mal-
functions.
4.3 - Transmitter memorisation - Configuration of users
and permits
IMPORTANT - Before proceeding with the following operations,
provide power to ETWI and the control unit.
ETWI does not memorise Nice transmitters but it receives the ra-
dio code that they transmit, it "translates" the code and sends it to the
control unit via cable, i.e. using the WIEGAND bus. In order to enable
the control unit to recognise the command and the transmitter which
generated it, the transmitter must be memorised in the control unit, as
follows:
• Recognition of the transmitter by the control unit
n 01. On the transmitter to be memorised: press briefly on any key:
ETWI receives the radio signal, it "translates" it and sends it to the con-
trol unit via the WIEGAND bus.
n 02. On the control unit: use the management software, provided on
the control unit, to display the transmitter ID sent by ETWI. Note – The
ID received by the control unit consists of a number that is unique-
ly bound to the transmitter, to the pressed button and to the address
of the ETWI device which sent it to the control unit. This means that: a)
When various buttons of a transmitter are pressed, each one of them
generates an ID that is different from those generated by the other but-
tons. b) If two ETWI devices are connected to the same WIEGAND in-
