1.0
APPLICATION
1.1
PURPOSE: The Counterweight Base/Rack is designed for use as a base for a davit. The davit and base
combination can be used as part of a personal fall arrest or rescue system for a person where the system
can be installed on a level surface.
1.2
LIMITATIONS: The following limits apply to the installation and use of Counterweight Base/Rack. The
Counterweight Base/Rack must be used in combination with a davit. Other limitations may apply:
A.
HORIZONTAL LIFELINE: The Counterweight Base/Rack is not rated for use as an anchor for a
horizontal lifeline.
B.
SYSTEM CAPACITY: The maximum working capacity of the Counterweight Base/Rack is of 450 lbs.
(204 kg). The Counterweight Base/Rack must be assembled and counterweighted according to the
specifications found in the table in Figure 5, weight plate charts.

The davit selected must match the application loading and “offset” (reach of the davit arm) as described in Figure D. After the Counterweight Base has been assembled and leveled at the job site by following the above procedure, the available space around the set up area will determine the extension distance required for the Crossmember Extension. The correct amount of weight must then be placed on the Counterweight Base.

For general fall protection use, connect to the D-ring on the back between the shoulders (dorsal D-ring). PERSÖNLICHES ABSTURZSICHERUNGSSYSTEM: Die mit diesem Gegengewichtssystem verwendeten persönlichen Absturzsicherungssysteme müssen den staatlichen und bundesstaatlichen Anforderungen von OSHA und ANSI entsprechen. - Página 36 ANSCHLÜSSE EINRICHTEN: Verwenden Sie mit dieser Ausrüstung nur selbstschließende Karabinerhaken. Depois de a base de contrapeso ter sido montada e nivelada no local de trabalho seguindo o procedimento acima, o espaço disponível à volta da área de configuração irá determinar a distância de extensão necessária para a extensão da travessa. Nadat de contragewichtbasis via de hierboven beschreven procedures is gemonteerd en waterpas is geplaatst op de werklocatie, bepaalt de beschikbare ruimte rondom het installatiegebied de vereiste verlengafstand voor het verlengstuk van de dwarsbalk. Vervolgens moet het juiste gewicht op de contragewichtbasis worden geplaatst. - Página 73 LICHAAMSONDERSTEUNING: Wanneer de Capital Safety-contragewichtbasis en -uitloopmast worden gebruikt, wordt het dragen van een volledig lichaamsharnas aanbevolen.
