For a more thorough cleaning, you can clean the guards and blades with a soft sponge

slightly moistened with water and a mild detergent (such as washing-up liquid). Rinse with
clean water and wipe thoroughly with a soft, dry cloth.
Make sure that water cannot come into contact with the motor.
