4. Maintenance

4.1. General recommendations

• Always make sure that the machine is disconnected from the battery before any
intervention.
• Always keep the machine clean, especially the ventilation grids and switch.
• Do not use sharp objects to perform any cleaning.
• Regularly clean with dry compressed air to remove dirt and metal particles from
inside the machine. These accumulated elements can damage it. Always wear gloves
and safety glasses in this operation.
• Never use chemicals for cleaning as they may degrade various components of the
power tool. The following examples are not recommended: solvents, silicone based
products, gasoline, ammonium based products, carbon chlorides, etc. Use only a cloth
moistened with mild soap. Do not allow liquid to enter the machine.
• For maintenance not indicated in this manual, refer the power tool to the PECOL
Technical Assistance Service.
• If damage or malfunction occurs, do not operate the machine and send it to Technical
Assistance Service PECOL.

4.2. Lubrication and exchange of carbon brushes

The carbon brushes and the lubrication of this machine are designed to last long periods
of operation. Lubrication should only be checked when changing the carbon brushes. If
necessary, change the brushes according to the diagnosis in the Troubleshooting Chart
(see page 69), refer the power tool to the PECOL Technical Assistance Service for
proper replacement and revision.

4.3. Transport and storage

• Always store the power tool with the battery disconnected and without drill bit or
other accessory installed.
• Protect the battery terminals by insulating them with a tape.
• If long-term storage is required, the battery should always be charged between 50%
and 75% (bright yellow level) and periodic checks of the charge must be carried out.
• Clean the power tool before storing.
• Store in a dry place protected from direct sunlight, dust and excessive heat. The
battery should be stored in a temperature range above 0°C and should not exceed 50°C,
being the ideal range between 10°C and 30°C for a long period.
• In case of drops, transport or prolonged storage, check the general condition of the
power tool. Look for cracks, gaps, loose parts inside, among others, before starting it.
• If it is necessary to carry the batteries, they must comply with the UN3480 and
UN3481guidelines or with the most current version that may become a substitute.
