D LIFESPAN
The lifespan of the product is dependent on a number of factors, such
as the manner and frequency of use, UV exposure, moisture, ice, affects
of weather, storage conditions, and dirt (sand, salt, etc.). Under extreme
conditions the lifespan can be reduced to a single usage or even less,
if the equipment has suffered damage (for example during transport)
before ever being used. Please note: Products manufactured from
synthetic fibres are subject to ageing even when not used. This ageing
depends mainly on environmental conditions as well as the impact of
UV light.
As a rule, drytooling, hitting on rock, jamming into cracks and levering
and twisting will considerably reduce the lifespan of this tool and may
cause it to break.
This product is built to last a maximum of ten years. Banging the ice
pick against the rock or wedging/jamming it into cracks will reduce its
longevity.
E STORAGE TRANSPORT AND CARE
See diagram E for guidelines on correct storage and care.
Do not allow this product to come into contact with aggressive chemi-
cals (e. g. battery acid, solvents) or expose it to extreme temperatures as
these events can have a negative impact on the mechanical features of
the materials.
Ensure that the product is kept safe during storage and transport and is
protected from damage.
File the front edge of the tip of the ice pick at the original angle until the
lower side of the tip lies at the same level as the teeth behind it, and no
more. If, as a result of being filed several times already, the lower edge
of the point is already higher than the teeth behind it, the ice pick will
no longer hold in the ice and the blade of the pick should be replaced.
The pick, the hand rest and the tip of the pick can be replaced, as need-
ed.

svolgere queste attività sportive. SALEWA consiglia di seguire corsi di
formazione con persone idonee (es. guide alpine, scuole di arrampicata)
prima di dedicarsi all'alpinismo e all'arrampicata. E' importante consi-
derare come un eventuale salvataggio possa essere eseguito in modo
sicuro ed efficace. Il produttore declina ogni responsabilità in caso di
inosservanza o uso inappropriato. Prestate inoltre attenzione alla certifi-
cazione di tutti gli ulteriori componenti di protezione.
B INDICAZIONI PER L'USO
Le piccozze da ghiaccio SALEWA sono state sviluppate per l'alpinismo
classico su terreni e pareti innevate e ghiacciate, per lo scialpinismo e
per l'arrampicata su ghiaccio e misto e sono conformi alla normativa EN
13089.
Secondo la normativa le piccozze da ghiaccio si suddividono in due tipi:
il „Tipo 1" (piccozza base, un tempo „Tipo B") è progettata per bassi cari-
chi nella neve e su ghiaccio. Il „Tipo 2" (piccozza tecnica, un tempo „Tipo
T") resiste a carichi più elevati ed è quindi indicata anche per l'uso sulla
roccia. L'incisione „T" contraddistingue la piccozza del „Tipo 2", mentre il
„Tipo 1" non è contrassegnato.
L'utilizzo corretto è descritto alla FIGURA B.
ATTENZIONE: Non sono stati rappresentati tutti i possibili casi di uso
inappropriato.
C INDICAZIONI DI SICUREZZA
Prima di qualsiasi utilizzo del prodotto occorre controllare in modo accu-
rato tutti i suoi componenti. FIGURA C
Le informazioni fornite (istruzioni per l'uso) devono essere conservate
insieme all'attrezzatura. Il prodotto deve essere utilizzato solo da per-
sone adeguatamente qualificate e preparate, e/o competenti e formate
in altro modo, o se l'utente è sorvegliato direttamente da una persona
idonea.
Assicuratevi che vengano utilizzati componenti compatibili. Consigliamo
l'uso esclusivo di attrezzatura per alpinismo corrispondente alle norme
rilevanti, es. EN 892 per le corde, EN12275 per i moschettoni.
ATTENZIONE
·In caso di minimo dubbio sulla sicurezza del prodotto occorre sostituirlo
immediatamente.
·Qualsiasi modifica al prodotto può comportare delle gravi conseguenze
per la sicurezza.
D DURATA
La durata del prodotto è fortemente influenzata dai seguenti fattori:
frequenza e modalità di utilizzo, logorio, raggi UV, umidità, ghiaccio,
agenti atmosferici, stoccaggio e sporcizia (polvere, sale ecc.). In presenza
di condizioni estreme può ridursi fino a un unico uso o ancora meno, se
l'attrezzatura è danneggiata ancora prima dell'uso (es. durante il traspor-
to). Prestate inoltre attenzione al fatto che i prodotti realizzati con fibre
sintetiche, anche quando non vengono usati, sono soggetti a un certo
invecchiamento dovuto specialmente a fattori climatici come l'influenza
dei raggi ultravioletti.
Effettuare Drytooling, colpire la roccia, incastrare l'attrezzo nelle fessure,
fare leva e torcerlo ne riducono la durata in maniera considerevole e
possono portare alla rottura della piccozza da ghiaccio.
La durata massima di questo prodotto è di 10 anni. Diminuisce picchian-
dolo contro la roccia e piantandolo nelle fenditure.
E STOCCAGGIO, TRASPORTO E MANUTENZIONE
La FIGURA E fornisce le indicazioni per un corretto stoccaggio e manu-
tenzione.
Fate attenzione affinché il prodotto non entri in contatto con agenti chi-
mici aggressivi come l'acido delle batterie, solventi e sali o sia esposto
a temperature estreme. In entrambi i casi le caratteristiche del materiale
possono essere alterate gravemente.
Assicurarsi che il prodotto venga conservato in condizioni di sicurezza e
protetto da danni durante il deposito e il trasporto.
