Pre-treating of instruments

Any significant deposits such as dental cement, composite, polish-
ing paste or similar left behind after treatment must be removed im-
mediately after examination of the patient so that little trace of them
remains.
Instruments with complex functional ends or very stubborn depos-
its may require ultrasonic pre-treatment.

Sorting of instruments

Instruments that are sharp at both ends should be placed into the
plastic receptacles. Instruments that are sharp at one end can also
be placed into the receptacles.
Make sure that the functional ends of the instruments are not rest-
ing on the frame of the insert.
Spread out the rest of the instruments in the empty compartments
of the insert. Make sure that the functional ends of the instruments
do not touch each other during reprocessing inside the washer-dis-
infector.
